WithSister Wivesseason 19just around the corner,TLCreleased a trailer on Instagram. In the clip, Kody struggles to juggle his three separate divorces, while trying to maintain his relationship with his last remaining wife. At one point, an emotional Robyn proclaims, “He is sabotaging our relationship.“Shegoes on to say that she feels like an idiot who was left behind, which is what happened when Kody’s first three wives walked out on him. After adding his third wife to the mix, 16 years would go by before Robyn would join the family. It would be an understatement to say that Robyn upended the delicate dynamic of the plural family.
Kody married Meri in 1990, and only three years went by before he married Janelle in 1993, and then Christine in 1994.
7Kody’s Grief Could Be Too Much For Him To Stay In The Marriage
He Has Lost So Much Over The Years
Though being dumped by three of his four wives has been difficult for theSister Wivespatriarch, Kody suffered an even more shocking loss with the death of his son,25-year-old Garrison Brown. Garrison was Kody’s son with his second wife, Janelle, and the two men had been feuding for many years. The tension started because Garrison felt neglected by his father, butthings between father and son came to a head during the COVID-19 pandemic. When Kody decided that his older sons, including Garrison, weren’t being cautious enough, he stopped seeing them. He went so far as to ask Janelle to kick her adult sons out of her home, which she refused to do. Kody and Garrison weren’t speaking when Garrison passed away in March, and the grief may have pushed Kody into destroying his last remaining marriage.
Kody and Robyn were extremely afraid of catching the virus, so they enacted strict mitigation rules that many of Kody’s children struggled to follow.

If Kody isn’t careful,his last remaining wife will follow his first three wives out the door, but maybe that’s what he wants. After going through three brutal break-ups, it’s understandable that Kody no longer has fond feelings about marriage. That being said, Kody was the driving force in his family and relationships, so he should blame himself, not the institution of marriage.

When Kody married Robyn, it became increasingly clear that she was his favorite wife. Christine was the first of his wives to walk away, and she said that she left because she was jealous that Kody and Robyn’s marriage was so functional while her marriage to Kody was so dysfunctional. However, afterKody’s first three wives walked away, Kody’s relationship with Robyn took a hit and stopped being as functional as it once was.
It seems Kody felt so betrayed by his first three wives that he took it out on Robyn, and he may end up all alone because of it.

Over the years,Kody often said the most terrible things to Meri, even telling her that he was no longer attracted to her and even that he married her despite having never loved her. The trailer teases an emotional scene between Kody and his first wife, in which they fight about their failed marriage. During the scene, he reiterates that he never loved her. “It’s not divorce that sucks,” Kody says about Meri in an on-camera interview, “it’s marrying the wrong person.”

As can be expected, theSister Wivespatriarchtakes no responsibility for his multiple failed marriages, blaming it all on his wives, who he accuses of betrayal and disloyalty. In the trailer, even Robyn isn’t spared Kody’s anger, and theSister Wivesstar is often seen off by himself, avoiding even her. If Kody isn’t careful, he’s going to drive Robyn away, and she’ll follow Christine, Janelle, and Meri out the door.
