Peacemakerseason 2’s place in James Gunn’sDC Universegets an exciting tease as John Cena’s TV show gets closer to returning. The DC Universe’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” slateis about to begin next month with the premiere ofCreature Commandos, which will feature a handful ofPeacemakercharacters in the animated series. However, it won’t be long until they return to live-action, with one of the leading stars of the Max series teasing what fans can look forward to in the new season.
Screen Rantrecently interviewed Steve Agee - who debuted in the DCEU franchise as John Economos through Gunn’sThe Suicide Squadbefore continuing to have a bigger role inPeacemaker- forCreature Commandos, while also getting a new update on what is next for his character. Agee revealed that he is expected to wrap filming today, and discussed the upcoming future of the DCU and his character, stating the following:

Steve Agee: I don’t know what’s going on beyond Creature Commandos in season 2 of Peacemaker - I’m in Savannah, Georgia, right now shooting season 2. We’re almost done, I should be done on Monday, and that’s the end of the season. So beyond that, I don’t know what’s in store for Economos. There’s a lot I wish I could tell you, [laughs] but you’ll have to tune into the shows!
While not being able to share any specific plot details,Agee teased thatPeacemakerseason 2 has a"more epic storyline"in store for viewers as it now takes place in the larger DC Universe. Agee also promised that there will be more characters involved inPeacemakerseason 2, sharing the following:

Steve Agee: It’s definitely a more epic storyline. More characters are involved this time, and it’s a massive story in a massive world. I think anyone who likes season 1 is going to love season 2.
What Steve Agee’s Comments Mean For Peacemaker Season 2
SincePeacemakerseason 2 isn’t a reboot in the DC Universe,it raises the question of how established characters who are coming over from the DCEU will be dealing with the new takes on players like Superman and the rest of the Justice League. Whatever the case, based on Agee’s tease forPeacemakerseason 2, the Max show will definitely be raising the stakes after season 1 set the foundation for Christopher Smith’s new team. That is also one way thatCreature Commandoswill affectPeacemakerseason 2, as Rick Flag Sr. is set to appear in the Max show.
Creature Commandosis set to premiere with the first two episodes on Thursday, December 5, followed by weekly releases on Max.

While the matter of howPeacemakerseason 2 fits into the DC Universe timelinehas been a major mystery, it’s clearthe show will help expand these characters' respective mythologies while paving the way for them to have more integral parts in Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” and beyond. Whether or not that meansPeacemakerseason 3 is on the table remains to be seen, as it will likely be determined by the show’s reception and performance on Max. However, if this grander story ends up being integral to the DCU’s overarching narrative, it certainly sounds possible.

WiththePeacemakerseason 2 storyhaving the chance to take place in a universe that is essentially starting from scratch,it will be exciting to see what parts of the show Agee’s comments are specifically referencing, and how they help flesh out the DC Universe.
