Everything Revealed By The Abbott Elementary Season 4 Trailer

The School Is Still Underfunded & Mismanaged

Instead of revealing any major plot points, the trailer forAbbott Elementaryseason 4shows some of thenew classroom hijinks to expect in the upcoming episodes. One of the main themes of the show is that Abbott Elementary, as an inner-city school, is criminally underfunded and mismanaged. This continues in the season 4 trailer as – instead of receiving the books, paper towels, raises, or after-school programs the teachers desperately need and want – the school instead receives $50 for class pets. Another storyline involves a student with ringworm, which sends the school into mass panic and hysteria.

Abbott Elementary Season 4 Sets Up A Show-Shaking Janine Twist

Although Abbott Elementary left Janine in a fairly stable place, season 3 might have secretly set her up for an exciting, and scary, new role.

Notably, the season 4 trailer does not addressJanine and Gregory’s romantic relationship. After three seasons of a will-they-won’t-they dynamic, the teachers shared another kiss and finally admitted their feelings for one another during season 3’s ending. While sitcoms typically revert to a sense of normalcy at the start of each season, this ending is expected to significantly influence the events of season 4 and could introduce some complications given Janine and Gregory are co-workers, and especially since their principal Ava has been openly vocal about her attraction to Gregory.
