InStar Wars: Ewoks (2024)#2 – written by Steve Orlando and Laura Braga, with art by Alvaro Lopez – a group of Imperials led by General Koyatta, and accompanied by hired guns, including 4-LOM, search for a weapons cache hidden somewhere on Endor. 4-LOM translates to the Ewoks, asking them for a place to stay for the night and a guide in the morning.

When Wicket was a young “wokling”, Imperial forces arrived on his home planet, the forest moon of Endor, claiming it for their own and building a bunker to house the shields that protected the second Death Star.Star Warsfans know how thisplayed out inReturn of the Jedi, including the bond that developed between Wicket and Princess Leia, the first human he ever encountered up close and personal. Star Wars: I Can’t See Darth Vader’s Redemption The Same After Learning About Sith Hell

All Sith Lords are destined to endlessly suffer in Chaos, but I think Darth Vader would have become something worse than what he was in life.

Still, what is most crucial about this moment is that itconfirms in the DisneyStar Warscanon Ewok physiology allows them to speak Basic. This is a significant milestone for the species, who are generally considered to be one of the more primitive in the galaxy – though asROTJand Marvel’s currentEwoksminiseries both prove, their primitive level of technological advancement does not at all equate to a lack of intelligence; instead, Ewoks are commonly depicted as being very smart.

The Future of the Ewoks On – And Off – Endor Could Hinge On Their Ability To Adapt To Speak Basic

Could The Ewoks Take To The Stars?

With Wicket learning how to speak Basic, it’s possible that more ewoks in the village have picked up on it from the humans, but have just chosen not to use it yet.Speaking Basic could be the first step in expanding their reach throughout the galaxy, as their species is so far solely native to Endor. Still, Ewoks are a very traditional species, making it unlikely that they will leave the comfort of Bright Tree Village, and bythe end ofThe Rise of Skywalker, they are all still seen on Endor, including Wicket.

Perhaps in the nextStar Warsmovie trilogy afterThe Rise of Skywalker, there could be some Ewoks integrated among all the other aliens, traveling from planet to plant.
