With Amy Rose set to make her long-awaited debut inSonic the Hedgehog’s movie universe, fans are already theorizing about which other fan-favorite characters might join the mix in the series' future installments. The games tend to be the first source material people turn to as they determine which characters will be adapted, but there are plenty of lesser-known characters from the comics who are just as worthy of joining Sonic on the big screen.

Introducing someone like Relic who possesses deep knowledge of the Master Emerald could be beneficial to Knuckles, as he could learn more about it and the abilities it holds, and it would also give the heroes an advantage over enemies who seek it out. Relic would be an inspired pick, despite her minimal appearances.
6Belle the Tinkerer (IDW)

Eggman’s potential absence inSonic the Hedgehog 4doesn’t mean that characters connected to him can be ruled out by default, andBelle the Tinkerer’s storyserves as proof of that fact.She was created by “Mr. Tinker”, an alias of Eggman that was born when he lost his memories and changed his ways for the better.Belle has since aligned with Sonic and friends, making her an unexpected yet welcome ally.

That’s where Julie-Su comes in.A fellow echidna from Archie’s continuity, Julie-Su was orphaned at a young age and enlisted as part of the Dark Legion.Knuckles and the Chaotixthen took her in, and he formed a bond with her as a result of their shared culture.
Knuckles has found a family inSonic and Tails, yet he continues to be plagued by the tragedy of losing his people. Having another echidna around could give him someone he can truly confide in, who understands where he comes from in a way that no otherSoniccharacter can.
4Tangle the Lemur (IDW)

IDW Publishing’s most prominent new character is undoubtedlyTangle the Lemur, who’s risen to prominence in the years since her dynamic debut.Tangle resembles Sonic in many ways, considering they both have excitable personalities and an eagerness to leap into action without coming up with a solid plan beforehand.She’s also a member of the heroic Diamond Cutters alongside Lanolin and Whisper the Wolf.
Tangle the Lemur, Whisper the Wolf, and Surge the Tenrec are all available as playable characters in the following two Sega Hardlight mobile games:Sonic DashandSonic Forces: Speed Battle. However, they have yet to appear in any of the main series' games.
Tangle has an advantage over other entries on this list in that she’s technically canon to theSonic the Hedgehoggames as well, which means she has a higher chance of being adapted if the games are being implemented first and foremost. While the Sonic the Hedgehog comics are colorfully fun adventures, there is a serious and sinister undertone that gets horrifically dark at times.
There would be numerous advantages to including Whisper in Sonic’s movie endeavors. For one, she could bring Wisps into the films' continuity and allow the characters to attain awesome new powers that would look stunning in action. Moreover,Whisper’s loredeserves to be presented to a wider audience, as it’s heartbreaking enough to have serious movie potential.
1Princess Sally Acorn (Archie)

Sally Acorn holds the coveted status of the most popular character to be introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog’s comics, and it’s difficult not to see why.With her headstrong personality and key role in the Freedom Fighters, Princess Sally has made an indelible impression on readers- and that’s without mentioning herromantic relationship with Sonic.
Bringing Sally to the films would bring the Freedom Fighters along with her, opening up the world of the films with a variety of other characters. Unfortunately, the Archie Comics characters aren’t currently available to use due to aninfamous lawsuit, so Sally won’t be joining the movies' versions of Sonic and friends any time soon. Regardless, there’s no question that she’d shine in theSonic the Hedgehogfilms if given the opportunity.
