Anna Kendrick recently explained why she once claimed to have forgotten she starred inTwilight. Kendrick played Jessica Stanley, one of Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) classmates at Forks High School, in theTwilightmovies. Even thoughKendrick appeared in four of the fiveTwilightfilms, the actor has admitted that her role has been easy to forget since Jessica Stanley is only a supporting character.
During an appearance on theCall Her Daddypodcast, Kendrick was asked by host Alex Cooper about one of her tweets from 2018, in which she wrote, “Holy s***. I just remembered I was in Twilight.” Kendrick claimed that she obviously remembers her time filming theTwilightfilms,especially since they were so important to her early career, but admitted that those films have been easy to forget about as she has gotten older. A while ago, I had done a silly, funny tweet where I just said, ‘Holy s***. I just remembered I was in Twilight.’ People were like, ‘Wait. You didn’t really forget that you were in Twilight.’ And the answer is truly yes and no. Because, obviously, obviously, I didn’t forget the experience of making the movies.
But those movies, especially at the time, took on such a life of their own, and they were such a kind of, for better or for worse, a kind of touchstone. Such a reference that everybody would talk about trying to find the next Twilight or whatever. I would find myself in business conversations talking about, ‘Oh, yeah. I’ve heard that there’s a book series that just got optioned that we maybe wanna try and make it the next Twilight.’ And then I would be like, ‘Oh my god, I’m in that. I’m, oh my god.'"

SincetheTwilightfranchise is full of supernatural beings, such as vampires and werewolves, Kendrick further explained that the fans never really paid as much attention to the human characters. This is something that Kendrick is thankful for. In the same interview, she claimed that the main characters couldn’t even leave their hotel rooms without getting flocked by fans, but that was something she never had to deal with at the time.
Kendrick’s Leading Role In The Pitch Perfect Series Overshadows Her Twilight Role
Even though Kendrick only portrayed a minor character inTwilight, that’s not to say she hasn’t experienced the same amount of success as the likes of her co-stars Stewart and Pattinson.Kendrick’s true breakout role came just one year afterBreaking Dawn - Part 1was released, with her playing the lead in the 2012 musical comedy filmPitch Perfect. Since then, she has starred in two morePitch Perfectfilms, in addition to many other movies, such asA Simple Favor(2018) andSelf Reliance(2023).
