Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warepisode #8is set to feature a showdown between one of the weirdest Quincies (Pernidas Parnkgjas) and one of the weirdest Soul Reapers (Mayuri Kurotsuchi). As Yhwach’s most elite begin to face off with the Captains, the fate of the entire world rests on the outcome of these battles.
Episode #7 featured an extended, original fight scene between Renji and Uryu, giving both a chance to show off the new power which they’ve acquired within this story arc. Renji was able to put his new Bankai, So-oh Zabimaru, to great use, pulling off a number of new and never-before-seen techniques, although it wasn’t quite enough to stop Uryu. For his part, Uryu used several stages of his new Vollstandig, giving him a tremendous amount of projectiles with which to take out his enemies. In the spirit particle-dense area that has become Wahr Welt, Uryu’s Quincy powers are effectively unlimited, giving him a tremendous advantage.

The English dub ofThousand-Year Blood Warhas finally been confirmed, and according to Hulu, the first three episodes will debut in dubbed form on July 20, 2025, at 9:30 AM Eastern. Presumably, episodes will continue to be released once a week after that.

The Soul Reapers Begin to Engage the Schutzstaffel
With the group of Soul Reapers and defected Quincy having arrived in Wahr Welt, what was once the Soul King’s Palace, the battle between Yhwach and his elite troops and the Soul Reaper captains is ready to begin. Mayuri set off on his own, or at least intended to, but soon found himself accompanied by Kenpachi Zaraki and a few members of Squad 11. Ichigo’s group encountered Askin Nakk Le Vaar, with Grimmjow breaking off from the group to chase the Quincy down singlehandedly. Askin managed to hit Grimmjow with a Gift Ball, poisoning him.
The main action of the episode was focused on the showdown between Renji Abarai and Uryu Ishida, with Renji flexing his new Bankai, showing off numerous new abilities, such as Hihi Tensho, which saw the fur from his baboon arm ripped off, which then grew into new skeletal hands from the piles of fur, each capable of capturing and holding down a foe. He also pulled out an old favorite, the Hikotsu Taiho, an energy attack fired from the baboon arm. Thesewere no match for Uryu’s Vollstandig, however, in part because Renji was holding back to avoid killing Uryu.

Mayuri and Pernida Have a Showdown
Episode #8 ofThousand-Year Blood Warpart 3is entitled “BABY, HOLD YOUR HAND,” a cheeky title that comes straight from manga chapter 637. This suggests the story will be cutting ahead a bit and, at least for the moment, skipping over the chapters focused on Bazz-B and Haschwalth. Instead, the focus is likely to be on Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi and the Quincy Pernida Parnkgjas, the latter of whom has been a serious question mark for quite some time now. Pernida’s identity and situation will finally be revealed in battle against Mayuri, answering some questions at long last.
Pernida is both one of the most mysterious and most dangerous Quincy, having destroyed Yoruichi’s arm when she got too close to it. This will making fighting it directly very challenging, as getting in close for sword attacks won’t be an effective strategy. If anyone has tricks up their sleeve to deal with such a problem, though, it’s Mayuri, and he’ll no doubt be thrilled to have such a bizarre opponent to study.
The battle against Yhwach’s most elite troops is finally getting underway, With Lille, Pernida, Askin, and Uryu having already confronted the Soul Reapers. It’s going to be a hard-fought battle to take down these powerful Quincy, but the fate of the Soul Society and the very world rests on the outcome of thisBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warbattle.
