As the Vice President’s daughter, Annie Grover was obviously going to attract a lot of attention from the different groups at college. Annie is first taken in by Beatrice Worth (Brooke Lena Johnson), the leader of the anti-Greek movement, and even convinces her to join their protests against the fraternities, mostly Delta Phi. This, along with a couple of scandals, such as Scott Russell’s (Khobe Clarke) injury at Spring Formal, puts the fraternities at risk of being brought down, so Caroline sees their salvation in Annie.
Caroline earns Annie’s trust and she officially joins Delta Phi, but Annie also realizes Caroline has been lying to her.
Caroline knows thatno one would even dare to touch the fraternity the Vice President’s daughter is a part of, which is why she’s determined to get Annie to join Delta Phi. Caroline Tries To Use Lucien To Her Benefit
Lucien is known for seducing women and sleeping with them, but he has the habit of videotaping his sexual encounters. Many members of Delta Phi were Lucien’s sex partners at some point, so he has already used his charm to lure people into Caroline’s fraternity – however, the Vice President’s daughter is a challenge unlike anything Lucien has faced before. Caroline knows she has to be smart to get Annie to join Delta Phi, so she proposes a bet to Lucien, while she carries on with her own plans, as well.
Caroline asks Lucien to seduce Annie and sleep with her so they can convince her to join Delta Phi– if Lucien does his part, Caroline will finally sleep with him. While Lucien gets closer to Annie, so does Caroline, inviting her to the fraternity’s different events and earning her trust – but Caroline is constantly lying to Annie. During one of those events, in which they share secrets with the rest, Caroline seizes the absence of her best friend and right hand, CeCe (Sara Silva), and tells her secret as if it were her own, earning Annie’s sympathy and trust.
Lucien doesn’t tell Caroline he fulfilled his part of the bet, and, instead, he calls off the bet.
What neither Caroline nor Lucien could have anticipated was Lucien developing feelings for Annie, which leads him to rebel against Caroline. Lucien has sex with Annie and videotapes it, but he promises not to share it with anyone. Lucien keeps his word and doesn’t upload the video to the shared file he has with Caroline, where he uploads all his sex tapes. However, Lucien doesn’t tell Caroline he fulfilled his part of the bet, and, instead, he calls off the bet while also telling Caroline he now understands why her mother never loved her.
Hurt and feeling betrayed, and as to her Lucien didn’t do his part, Caroline releases Lucien’s sex tapes, and it obviously becomes a big deal at college. However,Lucien has one final move against Caroline, and he has sex with her mother. Lucien uploads the video to their shared file and Caroline calls Lucien, who simply smiles and ignores her. Caroline gets what she wants when Annie joins Delta Phi, but her world might be able to crumble.

Caroline Backstabs Her Best Friend
Lucien isn’t the only one affected by Caroline’s plans and revenge – CeCe too. CeCe is Caroline’s chronically stressed best friend and her right hand at the fraternity, always making sure that everything goes as it should at Delta Phi. At the beginning of theCruel IntentionsTV show, CeCe starts working as assistant to Professor Chadwick (Sean Patrick Thomas), with whom she falls in love – and, to her surprise, Chadwick also develops feelings for her but tells her they mustn’t try anything until after she graduates. However, to Caroline, CeCe’s TA role becomes a distraction.
Caroline feels CeCe is being disloyal to the fraternity and working with Chadwick is distracting herfrom her duties at Delta Phi, and knowing there are feelings between CeCe and Chadwick, she decides to do something. Caroline poses as a member of the fraternity from another charter and seduces Chadwick. Lucien finds them having sex and after their confrontation in which Lucien withdraws from the bet, Caroline makes an anonymous sexual misconduct claim against Chadwick.

Caroline & Kathryn’s Plans Are Very Different
Caroline’s plan in theCruel IntentionsTV show is very different from that of Kathryn in the 1999 movie, mostly when it comes to her motivations. In the movie,Kathryn and Sebastian’s bet is mostly for funand because the latter wants a challenge. They come up with the idea of Sebastian seducing and sleeping with Annette Hargrove, the daughter of the school’s new headmaster who is against sex without love. If Sebastian succeeds, Kathryn will finally sleep with him, but if he fails, Kathryn will get his vintage car. Sebastian falls for Annette but lies to her about his feelings, leaving her heartbroken.
