Kumiko and Chozen both returned inCobra Kaiseason 3, and both Okinawans are firmly on Daniel’s side.
Daniel enlisted Chozen’s help against Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and brought his fellow Miyagi-Do sensei to California inCobra Kaiseason 5. Chozen became Miyago-Do’s third sensei alongside Daniel-san and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), butChozen also revealed he is in love with Kumiko, a torch he’s carried since the 1980s. At the end ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 1, Chozen decided to return to Okinawa and win Kumiko’s heart.

A heartbroken and drunken Chozen meets Daniel and Johnny in Barcelona for the Sekai Taikai tournament inCobra Kaiseason 6, episode 6, “Benvinguts a Barcelona,” andToguchi reveals that Kumiko is seeing another man. Chozen relates how he brought flowers for Kumiko, only to be met by a man in a towel at her front door.“Towel Man"then called for Kumiko, who he said is in the shower. Chozen slinked away and drowned his sorrows all the way to the Sekai Taikai.
Cobra Kai Season 6 Cast & Character Guide
Cobra Kai season 6 marks the return of many cast members of previous seasons, many of whom remain its primary leads while others get less screen time.
Chozen and Kumikoare an intriguing romantic pairing that also makes sense given their long history dating back toThe Karate Kid Part II.Cobra Kaiseason 3 revealed that Chozen had changed from his bitter and angry youth, and he befriended Kumiko. But Chozen not winning Kumiko’s heart is a letdown, andit was played off with embarrassingly awkward comedy that made Chozen look foolish.Tamlyn Tomita also didn’t appear inCobra Kai season 6, which is disappointing, since Kumiko hasn’t been seen since season 3.

Will Chozen And Sensei Kim Have A Relationship In Cobra Kai?
Cobra Kaiseason 6, part 2 didn’t deliver onChozen and Kumiko’s romantic setupbecause the show surprisingly had another love pairing for Toguchi: Sensei Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim). Sensei Kim and Chozen were taken aback by romantic sparks between themas they searched Barcelona for their teenage students inCobra Kaiseason 6, episode 8, “Snakes on a Plane.” After beating up two drunken tourists who were hitting on Kim, the Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai senseis hooked up.
Kim has more in common with Chozen than Kumiko.
Chozen and Sensei Kim even fought side by side against the Russian senseis of the Tiger Strike dojo inCobra Kaiseason 6, episode 10’s wild brawl. The question is whether this is just a flirtation between Chozen and Kim, or if they are meant to be together. Kim has more in common with Chozen than Kumiko, and Da-Eun also shows signs of wanting freedom from Cobra Kai. It would be a shame if Kumiko doesn’t appear inCobra Kaiseason 6’s final episodes, butChozen and Kim is an odd couple that may make more sense.
