Warning: Spoilers ahead forCobra Kaiseason 6, part 2!Cobra Kaiseason 6, part 2, ended with a line that makes perfect sense, but it should realistically have been spoken far sooner than it was. Despite being a new addition to thecast ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 2, Carston Norgaard’s Gunther Braun is landed with the responsibility of bringing the second batch of episodes of the show’s final run to a close. While this would be an honor under certain circumstances,Gunther’s role is far from that of someone summing up a positive string of events.

Cobra Kai’s Sekai Taikaihas been the main focus of theKarate Kidspinoff show’s final season. Although it initially seemed as though the tournament was approaching its imminent conclusion, a sudden brawl that ultimately led to the shockingdeath of Brandon H. Lee’s Kwon Jae-Sungquickly brought proceedings to a halt. WhileGunther eventually gave the order to “Cut the feed,“there had already been far more damage done than just the loss of a competitor.

Cobra Kai’s Sektai Taikai Brawl Was Broadcast For A Weirdly Long Length OfTime

Someone other than Gunther could have given the order to stop the broadcast

The Sektai Taikai is an internationally broadcast event, so it is viewed by far more people than those physically present. Therefore, there will have been countless viewers who witnessed the massive brawl breaking out, as well as Gunter being temporarily taken out of commission by the disgraced Russian sensei. Although the tournament may have begun as a traditional coming together of potential Karate champions, the event has since evolved into a much more commercialized event with glossy and impressive branding. So, it doesn’t make sense that the violence continued to be shot and broadcast.

It shouldn’t have taken Kwon’s death and Gunther’s leadership for the camera crew to stop documenting the chaos.

AlthoughGunther was unconscious for most of the scene, there was surely someone else who could have given the order to cease transmitting the signal around the world. Seeing the Sekai Taikai spiraling out of control into a whirlwind of feet and fists would be poison for the tournament’s business partners and the tournament’s overall reputation. It shouldn’t have taken Kwon’s death and Gunther’s leadership for the camera crew to stop documenting the chaos, although it does at least make sense why such a moment would be so sobering.

Why Cobra Kai Season 6 Allowed The Fight To Continue To Be Shown On TV

Cobra Kai has other main characters still in the US

With almost every mainCobra Kaicharacter in Barcelona, there was very little to do for those who had been left behind in California. The Sekai Taikai has been an all-encompassing event, and the show has only really made brief visits home during events like Miguel’s mother falling ill and the attempts to get Kenny to come and join Miyagi-do abroad. Therefore, certain compromises had to be made to make more of an effort to include established characters inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 2.

After Cobra Kai’s Shocking Sekai Taikai Twist, There’s No Way The Tournament Won’t Be Canceled

Cobra Kai season 6, part 2’s thrilling finale brings with it a massively unexpected event, calling the future of the Sekai Taiki into question.

One of those concessions was allowing the brawl to be broadcast in full. While it doesn’t make all that much sense, it at least allowed those still Stateside to witness it all unfold as it happened. Thankfully, it does offer something a little extra to the violence as well. Being so far away from the action, watching theCobra Kaicharacters endure their Miyagi-do teammates and family members in the throes of a brawl highlights the helplessness they must have felt.
