Spells are the bread and butter of any magic user inDungeons & Dragons, and even martial classes can occasionally have the opportunity to dip their toes into spellcasting. They can also be one of the most overwhelming aspects ofbuilding aDnDcharacter, as the 2024Player’s Handbookfeatures a huge variety of spells to choose from.
DnDspells are divided into eight different schools of magic, each of which alters the bounds of reality in a different way. All magical classes have their own spell lists, which draw from across schools of magic to build the appropriate flavor for each class.
