Momo And Okarun’s Relationship Grows Even Stronger

As the three talk about what happened, Okarun realizes that the reason he was targeted was because the aliens were being deterred from invading Earth by the Yokai, and they wanted to experiment on Okarun to develop a countermeasure. Aira’s friends barge into the room, whisking her away and leaving Momo and Okarun to talk. When Momo asks Okarun to explainwhy he was on top of Aira earlier, he reveals what happened and how he was training to get stronger.
Their heartfelt moment doesn’t last long though, as Momo’s friends come into the room and question what happened. The scene shifts to Aira and her friends asking her what happened. They conclude that Momo was behind all this and proceed to make nasty remarks about her. This is when Aira intervenes and defends Momo, and takes accountability for spreading a false rumor about her. She leaves the class and as she is sitting outside, she meets Momo. As they talk, the mantis alien appeared out of nowhere and collapsed.
He wakes up later with bandages on him in Momo’s home. He sees his wounds treated and food in front of him, and starts crying out of gratitude and apologizes to them. This is where he explains his situation and how his son has a deadly disease that requires daily blood transfusion, which is expensive. This is why he attacked them; to make money. Saddened by his situation, Okarun tries to help, but his idea is shot down by Momo.

An Emotional Episode Full Of Character Development
This episode shows whyDandadanis such a unique series in the battle shonen genre. Whereas most shonen series would intensify the action in the last few episodes,Dandadanepisode #10 slowed down the pace to focus on character work and relationships. This is what it is good at and the biggest selling point of the series. Furthermore, it features great emotional execution for some of the characters as well as humanizing the mantis alien by giving proper motivation.
To top it all off, the episode ended with one of the series' weirdest scenes yet, where the alien took a cow into his shuttle and zoomed away. The animation didn’t disappoint yet again, even if this episode featured no high-octane action the series excels at. While Dandadan episode #10 might have been one of the quieter ones so far, it is highly consequential given that it introduces yet another controversial character, Jiji, whose role will be very divisive but interesting.

One of the highlights of this episode is that the characters became much more interesting and relatable. The resolution of the misunderstanding between Momo and Okarun was certainly satisfying, but we shouldn’t overlook Aira’s development. She surprised everyone by standing up for someone she disliked, demonstrating her kindness despite her seemingly arrogant demeanor. Overall, this episode was a significant step in making the characters resonate more with viewers and showcasing whyDandadanis poised to be the next big hit.
Jiji Presents An Interesting Shift In Dynamics
The two main characters have gone through quite a lot so far. From deadly confrontations, friendship-ending misunderstandings, and quarrels, they not only managed to stay friends but their bond grew stronger. However, the entry ofa past lover intoDandadanis going to be a big challengeand could cause quite a lot of issues, especially since Okarun has been shown to be a little jealous and clingy.
