The action and drama have never been as intense as they’ve been now, and as is always the case, there’s no telling how things will progress from here.
Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 was the first episode not to put Kadode and Oran in the spotlight, instead focusing primarily on Futaba’s activities with SHIP and the increasing radicalization of everyone in the series.

Most notably,Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 was the first episode to give a lot of focus to the invaders, and that led to both an increased level of development for their story and another horrifying look into the darker elements of the story, all of which is sure to have great payoff in the upcoming weeks.

Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 brought back Nori Ikeda, the JSDF soldier from previous episodes who often showed hesitation to kill invaders. Nori tried to accept that it wasn’t up to him to think about who was his friend or who was his enemy, but his sister calling him a murderer and his father’s enthusiastic praise made that impossible. Eventually,Nori realized that there wouldn’t be so much conflict with the invaders if they could properly communicate, but he also felt the lack of communication made things easier because he wouldn’t have to hear their cries for mercy.
While that was happening, Tsutomu the invader learned that with more and more of their allies dying and the mothership slowly losing power, all the communes were planning a joint attack on the government’s new stadium, which they assumed to be a weapon. Tsutomu protested under the belief that nonviolence was their only solution, but not long after,a legion of Fujin #9s, the government’s latest anti-invader robots, arrived at the commune and slaughtered nearly everyone there. The slaughter further emboldened the invaders to war with humanity, but Tsutomu didn’t answer whether he had changed his mind.

After that, while Kadode and Oran prepared for a beach trip with the occult research club, Futaba started questioning her involvement with SHIP as they became increasingly radicalized and started discussing resorting to violence. That idea was further emphasized when SHIP had a run-in with Kohiruimaki’s group, now calling themselves the Youth United Front, and Kohiruimaki said they would never get anywhere unless they took action. Futaba still advocated for the idea of peaceful protesting, but everyone had other plans, andDead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 ended with Futaba being given a gun by the leader of SHIP.
Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 was the first episode not to focus much on Kadode and Oran, and it still managed to be a good episode despite that. With the focus off of the main duo, the show could explore some of the more underdeveloped members of the cast, and between Futaba watching her cause slowly fall apart and become violent and the surprising depth given to a one-off character,Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 did a great job of showing off the depth of its wider cast.

The best example of this came from the increased exploration into the invaders. Seeing another instance of them being brutally murdered was one thing, but thanks to the show finally spending an extended amount of time with them, theDead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionanimefinally highlighted how the invaders aren’t so different from the humans, with them being just as prone to violence and blind patriotism as their oppressors. It makes the conflict of the series far less straightforward than previous episodes made it out to be, and that, of course, adds even more depth to the story.
Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 was one of the heaviest episodes of the series in weeks, and it was all the better for it. Not only was there even more build-up toDead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction’s prologue, butthe stellar character writing and social commentary ofDead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructionepisode #11 once again did wonders to add to the drama of the seriesfrom start to finish.Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destructioncontinues to ramp up its drama as it heads toward its conclusion, and seeing how it all plays out will surely be great.
