The new footage shown atOpening Night Liveprovided a look at the game’s customization options, as players create their own character from appearance to background before venturing out into the desert planet. From here, it is a fight for survival by learning the ways of the Fremen by learning the ways of the Fremen to avoid deadly sandworms and other threats while enduring the scorching sun and other environmental challenges.

It’s possible to meet hundreds of other players across the planet and explore it with them through customizable vehicles, or betray them and steal from them - although working together seems to be the recommended option to ensure a better chance of survival. The gameplay also showed off some of the gun combat as players infiltrated enemy bases while also demonstrating some of the ways in which they can build and upgrade their own to expand their influence and trade with others.
A huge part of the gameplay loop seems to beretaining control of the spice flow and clinging to poweras guild warfare rages on. Players will be able to choose between walking the path of the Mentat, Trooper, Planetologist, Swordmaster, or Bene Gesserit, with players being able to join them and align with House Harkonnen or Atreides, and clash dynamic guild versus guild battles involving a range of vehicles, tech, and specialized combatants.
It was also confirmed thatDune: Awakeningis targeting an early 2025 release window on PC. It will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at a later date.
