FKA twigs' new 2025 albumEUSEXIAis 43 minutes of pulse-pounding dance music with occasional moments of blissful heady orchestration and hauntingly vulnerable lyricism. Born Tahliah Debrett Barnett on August 20, 2025, FKA twigs is an English singer, dancer, and songwriter from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. She began her career in entertainment as a background dancer, appearing in music videos for artists such as Jessie J and Beyoncé in the early 2010s.

FKA twigs released her first EP, aptly titledEP1, in 2012, followed byher debut albumLP1in 2014, which featured the singles “Two Weeks” and “Pendulum”. Since her breakthrough year in 2014, FKA twigs has only released one studio album, 2019’sMAGDALENE, and one full-length mixtape, 2022’sCAPRISONGS, before the August 19, 2025 release of her third studio albumEUSEXUA. She is also an actress who appeared in2019’sHoney Boyand landed her first starring role in the recent2024 reimagining ofThe Crowalongside Bill Skarsgård.

WithEUSEXUA, FKA twigs delivers her most dance-focused project yet, which nearly exists in stark contrast to the stripped-down R&B profundity onMAGDALENE. The result is a deeply immersive futuristic soundscape that transports listeners to another world, offering a compassionate yet enthralling escape. As a whole,EUSEXUAshines with its house-inspired heavy-hitting singles designed for nightclubs across the globe. While its next-level production was expected,EUSEXUA’sgenre-blending and highly inventive style should keep it at the top of 2025’s best album lists for months to come, alongsideMac Miller’sBalloonerism.

11Keep It, Hold It

Track 7 – 4:32

Arriving in the latter half ofEUSEXUA, the beginning of “Keep It, Hold It” offers a momentary break from the club vibe that defines the first half of the album. Edging into a psychedelic, downtempo space, FKA twigs offers some of the most confessional lyrics on the track, questioning how she is supposed to respond to and deal with criticism and self-doubt. She thoughtfully answers these introspective probings with mantras such as, “Just keep it moving, hold it close.”

About halfway through, the track explodes into a cataclysmic drum & bass groove while still holding onto its initial ethereal soul. Arguably the most sonically misplaced song on EUSEXUA, “Keep It, Hold It” offers some of the album’s most wise messages about self-care and how dance can play a key part in it.

1024hr Dog

Track 10 – 4:42

“24hr Dog” offers another change of pace as the penultimate track onEUSEXUA. Deeply melodic, the lyrics on “24hr Dog” reflect a willful submission rooted in charged romance, coming off as a futuristic alternative love ballad. The production carries elements of some tracks off The Weeknd’sAfter Hours, particularly his “Escape from LA” track. “24hr Dog” is strangely sweet, blending the line between love and obsession, which makes its tone a bit eerie. Lyrics like “Your love chores / distract me from my worst flaws” highlight the tragic insecurity within the lyrics, hinting that they’re much more than sweet nothings.

9Childlike Things

Track 8 – 2:31

“Childlike Things” featured a surprise cameo from North West, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who sings in fluent Japanese on the track. Innately positive and motivating, “Childlike Things” is the most motivational song onEUSEXUA, subscribing to a Peter Pan-like ideology of staying young forever. North’s lyrics translate to “My name is North-chan / From California to Tokyo / Jesus, the King (Ah-ah) / Praise the Lord (Ah-ah) / Jesus is the one and only true God” (viaGenius). The song is somewhat harmless filler but offers a seriously catchy beat sprinkled with signature FKA twigs-isms that make it an enjoyable footnote onEUSEXUA.

8Room of Fools

Track 5 – 4:26

“Room of Fools” is one of the several songs onEUSEXUAbest listened to on headphones, offering a trippy swaying synth that ebbs and flows in the background. The song also features a series of bright synth chords that resemble the star theme music from Nintendo’s Mario Kart. “Room of Fools” keeps a strong tempo throughout before an unexpected breakdown towards the end of the song sounds like the hymn of a tribal goddess. “Room of Fools” acts as a bridge to the latter half ofEUSEXUAand caps its hard-hitting and mesmerizing slate of opening singles. While it doesn’t stack up to its predecessors, it’s a solid mid-album track with a great hypnotic beat.

7Sticky

Track 6 – 2:57

At just under 3 minutes long, “Sticky” is a beautifully concise song that opens like a lullaby. There’s a captivating power in the contrast between the wonderfully light piano keys and synths and the booming undertones of bass that linger like a bad dream. “Sticky” has a great pace and builds to a truly mesmerizing medley before dropping a face-melting dub-heavy breakdown at the song’s end. “Sticky” feels underspoken despite its lyrical complexity and the innuendo in its title.

A blend of euphoria and pain-induced sadness, “Sticky” feels like the sonic equivalent of a freshly healed scar. Lyrics such as, “You’re right, I hold it in my body / Little snakes inside a bottle / Writhing in my frustration” articulate a complex emotional relationship with intimacy while expressing an exasperated longing for something that feels like it will never come. That repressed desire takes form as instrumental rage as “Sticky” basically rips the song away from itself, like tossing a can of paint on a finished painting, evoking a sense of giving up.

6Eusexua

Track 1 – 4:24

You can essentially hear the flashing light in the opening title track “Eusexua”, born in a moment of heartbreak or loneliness in the early hours of a night out. According toGenius, FKA twigs describes the self-invented term herself, “EUSEXUA IS A PRACTICE. EUSEXUA IS A STATE OF BEING. EUSEXUA IS THE PINNACLE OF HUMAN EXPERIENCE.” There’s a sweeping rush “Eusexua” that would rival any classic Deadmau5 song, setting the tone for the electronic whirlwind to come in the remaining 10 tracks on the album. Lyrics like “Wonder if you see / the way that we transcribe it, baby” and “King-sized, I’m vertical sunrise” seem to be a direct line to the artist’s higher self, the source of her creativity and inspiration.

5Perfect Stranger

Track 3 – 3:17

One of the most replayable tracks and true dance club anthems onEUSEUXA, “Perfect Stranger” paints a narrative portrait of losing oneself in the club atmosphere, relinquishing any and all worries that you didn’t leave at the door. With its familiar techno beat that seemingly draws callbacks to Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”, “Perfect Stranger” is equally accessible and immersive, acting as a great entry point for any new fan. One of the most “pop” songs ofEUSEUXA, “Perfect Stranger” has the makeup of a summer radio hit and a Boiler Room remix. It’s arguably the most traditional and calculated song onEUSEUXAbut every electronic album needs one for the masses.

4Wanderlust

Track 11 – 4:18

“Wanderlust”, the final track onEUSEXUA, could easily be many longtime FKA twigs fans' new all-time favorite. The track is unlike anything else on the album in that it hardly employs synths, bass, or much instrumentation at all, laying everything out with pure and raw vocals that are chill-inducing on every listen. “Wanderlust” demystifies the exotic allure and futuristic nature of the album, showcasing that beyond FKA twigs' incredible artistic vision, she’s got some serious singing pipes that could rival those of any modern pop star.

“Wanderlust” may be the final chapter ofEUSEXUA, but FKA twigs feels like she’s actually closing the book herself, leaving the listener with one last note, “I’ll be in my head if you need me.” This “Wanderlust” is whereEUSEXUAand the artist’s other mesmerizing projects were born and where she seemingly feels most safe and protected. FKA twigs takes a powerful bow to close out the album.

3Drums of Death

Track 4 – 3:11

“Drums of Death” does its title justice, offering up some head-spinning production that sounds like it was off of Grimes' 2020 albumMiss Anthropocene, drawing similarities to the second track “Darkseid”. It also has one of the catchiest hooks on the entire album, “Hello, it’s your life, do you want to meet later? / Relax and ease your mind ‘cause you work so much”. FKA twigs’ hook on “Drums of Death” matched with the addictive beat by Koreless is a pure serotonin hit every time, making its replay value exponential.

2Girl Feels Good

Track 2 – 3:57

EUSEXUA’ssecond track “Girl Feels Good” is infused with an unmissable late 1990s and early 2000s pop vibe, drawing instant flashbacks of Madonna’s “Ray of Light”. “Girl Feels Good” has a motivational anthem quality to it with lyrics like “When a girl feels good, it makes the world go ‘round / When the night feels young, you know she feels pretty”. Like “Perfect Stranger” after it, “Girl Feels Good” is one of the more accessible tracks onEUSEXUA’and has to be the most infectious.

Most of FKA twigs’ lyrics in “Girl Feels Good” are ironically aimed at men. She touches on the concept of masculinity and the silently destructive force within certain gender expectations, with lines like “I fear the man who finds himself lost / In tales of war, delusions of more / Beautiful boys, I wish you knew how precious you are.” In this way, FKA twigs presents as a feminist educator and guide onEUSEXUA.
