Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s newest set was just revealed, but we still know at least some of the cards that will be appearing in it. With January almost over,Pokémon TCG Pocketplayers are looking forward to two major releases. The first is the addition of trading, allowing players to swap certain (but not all) cards with their friends. The other major release is the new expansion, which will provide the biggest burst of new content to the game since its original release last October.
Pokémon TCG Pocket’s next set isSpace-Time Smackdown, which will be coming out soon, adding new cards and new strategies to the game. Details about the new card set are relatively scarce, other than that the set willfocus on Gen 4 Pokémonand trainers who originally appeared in the Sinnoh region. While the full card set has not been revealed yet, we still know some of the cards thanks to their reveal in the new trailer. Based on previous releases, the new trailer may be the only tease of new cards prior toSpace-Time Smackdown’s release at the end of January.

The Next TCG Pocket Set Is Space-Time Smackdown
Focusing on Gen 4 Pokemon, Space-Time Smackdown Also Adds A New Card Type To Game
It leaked ahead of the reveal thatSpace-Time Smackdownwill focus on Gen 4 Pokémon, the Pokémon that first appeared inPokémon Diamond and Pearl. While it’s likely we will get more than just Gen 4 Pokémon in the new set,the fact that Palkia and Dialga appear on the booster pack art is a clear sign of the directionSpace-Time Smackdownwill go. It’s also confirmed that the set will feature new full art and alternate art cards, as well as new Pokémon ex cards. So far, three Pokémon ex cards have been confirmed: Palkia ex, Dialga ex, and Parichisu ex.
“It’s Time To Suffer Again,” Pokémon TCG Pocket Launches Unpopular Event for Second Time
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has launched a new SP Emblem event, although some players don’t like having to get a win streak to complete it.
Another wrinkle toSpace-Time Smackdownis that the set will contain Pokémon Tool cards. In the physicalPokémon TCG,Pokémon Tools are trainer cards that can be attached to a specific Pokémon card to provide that Pokémon with specific benefits. Some Pokémon Tools enhance attack strength or HP, while other cards negate damage in some form or allow a Pokémon to receive more than one energy per turn. No Pokémon Tools have been revealed so far, but the rules for Pachirisu confirm that the new card type will appear in the next set.

Which Space-Time Smackdown Cards Have Been Revealed (So Far)
Only 12 Cards Have Been Officially Revealed, But More Have Been Teased
Only a handful of new cards were revealed in the trailer, although they do provide some pretty excellent clues about the full set. Although the trailer only showed off Gen 4 Pokémon (and one new trainer card),the text in some of the cards provided a big hint as to some of the other Pokémon cards that will make an appearanceinSpace-Time Smackdown. Still, fewer cards were revealed/hinted at than in theMythical Islandtrailer, which provides even more room for speculation than last month.
Here is the full list of cards revealed forSpace-Time Smackdownso far:

The following cards have also been confirmed thanks to revealed card rules text:
Finally, these are cards that will appear in the set based on their pre-evolved forms or evolved forms appearing in the trailer, or because they’ve appeared in other promo material for the new set:

When Space-Time Smackdown Releases
Space-Time Smackdown Comes Out On January 30 For Most Players In US
There’s a bit of confusion aboutSpace-Time Smackdown’s release date, in part due to the timing of when the set will be released. The Pokémon Company announced thatSpace-Time Smackdownwill be released on January 30, although US players on the West Coast will actually get the new cards on January 29.The new set officially comes out on January 30 at 1 AM ET,with a simultaneous worldwide release. Likewise, trading will roll out on January 29 at 1 AM ET, so some US players will technically have access to trading on the 28 if they live on the West Coast.
Space-Time Smackdownshould be an exciting new set forPokémon TCG Pocketfans. Not only do we get new Pokémon cards to collect and add to decks, players will also get the chance to try out a new type of card, which could also enhance the strategies of some decks. What will be fascinating is how the current dominant decks are affected by the new cards. Will dominantdecks like Celebi exor Gyarados ex get phased out by stronger cards, or will the decks become even more powerful thanks to new Pokémon Tool cards?
