Indiana Jones & The Great Circlecame out with a bang, and it still has a little more to come. The Order of the Giants DLC is on its way, and while I normally don’t feel very excited about more paid content, this one feels different. There are a lot of reasons why,and it helps that the base game felt excellent. I also think that of all the games to get a little extra content, one based on a franchise that is so episodic anyway works really well.
Indiana Jones & The Great Circlehas already had success, and it has won several accolades since its release. It had a great storyline and resulting conclusion, but it didn’t feel like it was dragging on.It also laid the groundwork for the DLC and gave a nice nod to it at the end of the game, allowing us to get excited about it as time went on.
Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Doesn’t Overstay Its Welcome
A Big RPG But A Doable One
Theconclusion ofIndiana Jones & The Great Circlefelt good, and it was the right amount of game. An Indiana Jones game could have easily overstayed its welcome, continuing past the point of being relevant andhaving a globe-spanning map filled with even more collectibles and locations that weren’t connected to the story. That would have put it in line with other RPGs, but instead, it ended on a nice note.
Harrison Ford Weighs In On Troy Baker’s Performance In Indiana Jones & The Great Circle
The original Indy, Harrison Ford, had lots to say about the work Troy Baker put into his performance in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
The game, while big enough to sink some time in and enjoy, wasn’t so big that I felt like I would never be able to finish it. In fact, it left me wanting a little more,and it is nice to look forward to a DLC and not have to wait for news for a sequel. It could be a long time before we get that news, and an even longer time before a sequel actually gets made. Instead, we can look forward to a good DLC giving us a little more to make the wait a little less anxious.
The Order Of Giants DLC Has A Ton Of Potential
A Self-Contained Addition With New Places And People
While we don’t know much, there were small nods toward the Order of Giants throughout the game, and the notablesecret ending that teased a snowy landscape. While it is not yet clear what that secret ending is pointing to,it is more likely that it is pointing toward the DLC. Normally, I don’t feel super excited about paying more money to play more of the game, or it at least has to feel very exciting and wide in scope for me to want to try it. But there’s something about the potential of this DLC that changes that.
Indiana Jones is a great episodic series, which means there is a lot of room for this DLC to be self-contained with an epic story nonetheless.They could take it to any location, and we will hopefully see something new, possibly the Antarctic, which could give us ahorror-themed quest. Seeing a new part of the world and solving a new mystery is exciting to me, and I am excited to see what comes next. The game left me wanting more, and I am excited to see what is coming down the pipeline forIndianaJones & The Great Circle.
