Most seasonedMy Hero Academiafans are well aware of the hero ranking system, wherein each officially ranked Pro Hero receives a numbered spot based on their heroic actions and public reputation. The coveted spot of #1 Pro Hero, held for many years by All Might, is an achievement that countless heroes and aspiring heroes in training are vying for throughout the series.
SomethingMy Hero Academiafans may be less familiar with though, is the fact thatthe series' villains have a similar ranking system of their own.Although the system used for villains is a little different from the system for heroes, each villain still receives a ranking that represents their power level and reputation.

My Hero Academia’s Villains Are Ranked Just Like Its Pro Heroes
The Strongest Villains Are at the Top of the List, While the Weaker Ones Are at the Bottom
AlthoughMy Hero Academia’svillainsare not all affiliated with one organization like the Pro Heroes in Hero Society, there is still a somewhat formal ranking system for these evildoers, which was outlined in bothMy Hero Academia: The Official Character GuideandMy Hero Academia: Ultra Analysis: The Official Character Guide. In this system, rather than receiving a number ranking like the Pro Heroes do,villains are separated into tiers that are represented by letters. Each letter indicates the villains' strength, the power of their Quirk, and their success so far in accomplishing evil deeds as a villain.
The lowest level and weakest villains are ranked as an F, while the strongest and most menacing are ranked as S.For example, villains like All For One and Shigaraki are ranked as S, while villains who are not quite as deadly or skilled, like Needle Hair and Chomper, receive an F ranking. Those somewhat in the middle receive mostly As, Bs, and Cs, like Toga Himiko or Spinner. Villains can also advance in the ranks just like heroes. For example, Toga Himiko started out ranked as a C, but moved up to an A after proving herself during her work with the League of Villains.

The Villain Ranking System Is Pretty Similar to the One Used by Pro Heroes
The Pro Heroes Are Ranked by Number, While the Villains’ System Uses Tiers and Letters Instead
Villains aren’t ranked by number like Pro Heroes are, which means there is technically no coveted #1 villain spot like there is for the Pro Heroes. Still, mostMy Hero Academiavillainsare quite desperate for power and recognition, andbecoming an S-ranked villain, at the top of the charts, is still an enticing goal for most of them. The villain ranking inMy Hero Academiais not spoken about as frequently as the hero ranking, but it still exists and motivates villains to compete with one another and keep fighting to be the best in their category.
Only One My Hero Academia Pro Hero Stands Above the Others For One Shocking Reason
One Pro Hero stands above the others in My Hero Academia because he never forces the weight of his dream on others, especially children.
Comparing the first villain ranking that was released with the most recent ranking can give fans an idea of how much these characters have improved and grown over time, becoming stronger and more proficient at using their Quirk abilities. The hero ranking system accomplishes this same goal, allowing viewers to understandthe Pro Heroes' strengths and talentsin comparison to each other. Although these ranking systems are not the only way to understand aMy Hero Academiacharacter’s power level, they do provide a helpful overview of which characters are considered the strongest in the series.
