Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Found season 2, episode 2!Foundstar Mark-Paul Gosselaar has clarified the nature of Sir’s love for Gabi, unpacking how he truly feels about the investigator. ThroughoutFound’s morally gray storyline, the show has focused on Gabi (Shanola Hampton) using Sir (Gosselaar), a man she kidnapped who previously kidnapped her as a child, to solve missing persons cases. However, this dynamic changed in season 2 when he escaped her confinement, going after Lacey (Gabrielle Walsh) and keeping her captive while free. However, his positive feelings toward Gabi seemingly haven’t changed.
Speaking withScreen Rant, Gosselaar stated thatSir does, in fact, harbor platonic feelings for Gabi, wanting their relationship inFoundto be more of a casual friendshipthan anything else. The actor explains how his character is “living in a fantasy” where the pair can enjoy the arts and books together, something that can’t happen given what he did to her as a child and what he’s doing to Lacey right now. Check out what Gosselaar had to say below:

I think, in his mind, she does love him, and she doesn’t express it in the way that he would like. In a perfect world, it would just be a partnership. It would be a relationship. There’s nothing sexual about it. He just enjoys her company and her presence and everything that she has to offer, and, primarily, her intellect and brilliance.
In a perfect world, they’d be traveling the world and reading books and savoring art and enjoying the finer points of life and connecting on all those things. It’s just interesting because it’s never been a relationship based on a physical attraction. I’m sure that Sir finds her pretty, but it’s not what draws him to Gabrielle. We saw it in last season where he was picking a book for her to read about Paris and asking her to change her name, and they were just going to go on this journey together. He is just living in fantasy.

What Sir’s Feelings For Gabi Mean In Found Season 2
He Wants To Find His Way Back To Her Somehow
Sir’s love for his former victim being so fantastical indicates how much his skewed perspective influences his decision-making, wanting everything to be perfect to ensure he gets her as he wants her.
So far,Foundseason 2has altered the show’s dynamics by having Sir kidnap Lacey, his status going from a villain whom Gabi enlisted the help of to an active threat towards the team. This change has created some memorably chilling moments already, such as him sitting on a park bench with her, indicating the cat-and-mouse battle between the pair going into the new episodes. However, this also makes it unclear how their story together is going to end, and how much longer he can realistically get away with everything now that he has another hostage.

Found Season 2’s New Character Is Exactly What Moselys Needs After Gabi’s Season 1 Finale Nightmare
Found is keeping the identity of its newest season 2 character under wraps, but whoever Danielle Savre plays is sure to shake up the series.
Unlike season 1, which had 13 episodes, season 2 was renewed with a full, 22-episode season, indicating whatever happens between the pair will be much more arduous and difficult to fully resolve than the debut episodes. Sir’s love for his former victim being so fantastical indicates how much his skewed perspective influences his decision-making, wanting everything to be perfect to ensure he gets her as he wants her. However, with his brother Christian (Michael Cassidy) now in the mix andGabi in a dark headspace, he can’t get away with his crimes forever.
