Theending ofYellowstonefelt rushed and underwhelming for such a legendary, generation-spanning saga.Lionessseason 2 was good, but it didn’t live up to the quality or suspense of the first season.Tulsa Kingseason 2 was probably the second-best of Sheridan’s shows, especially after it added Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo as villains. Even though Sylvester Stallone gave a great performance and the show put forward an engaging story,Landmanstill has a leg up.

Taylor Sheridan is Paramount+’s biggest name, with numerous movies and shows available from the Yellowstone creator available on the platform.
It’s not that the rest of Sheridan’s shows were bad. I lovedTulsa Kingseason 2 and the rest of the bunch, butLandmanjust had more spark to it.Billy Bob Thornton and the entire star-studdedcast ofLandmangave great performances, and Tommy’s humor and wit blended perfectly with the dark focus on the oil industry. On top of that,Landmanhad such a well-crafted story complete with deep character development, interesting side plots, and fun and entertaining moments. Plus,Landmanhad the benefit of being a new series compared to returning stories, and it has so much potential for future seasons.

As good as it was, the ending ofLandmanseason 1 left a Taylor Sheridan-shaped hole in many viewers' watch lists, myself included. Luckily,Sheridan’s next show afterLandmanis less than two months away, and he has much more planned after that. TheYellowstonespinoff1923is getting a second season, and it will be released on Paramount+ on February 23.After that, Sheridan has a slew of continuing shows, newYellowstonespinoffs, and even an original movie adaptation, in varying stages of development. It’s only a matter of time until more of Sheridan’s writing is ready to watch.

I, for one, can’t wait to see Billy Bob Thornton step back into Tommy’s cowboy boots, which is one of the many reasons I thinkLandmanwas Sheridan’s best work at the end of 2024.
