Leaks about a new world boss and Natlan map expansion inGenshin Impact5.6 are showing signs of a possible prelude to the introduction of Mare Jivari, a legendary area that has yet to be explored and one that has been heavily rumored for release at some point this year.Version 5.6 is still some weeks away from being officially added to developer HoYoverse’s action RPG as it is currently entering Version 5.5. However, with the confirmation of the contents of Version 5.5, such as the release ofVaresa inGenshin Impact, attention is already shifting toward the next patch.

Because the Version 5.6 beta tests haven’t officially commenced, the details about the future update are still a bit scarce. Still, some leakers are already delving into the game’s files to find information about what players can expect from the game in six weeks. So far, most of the information about it has been based on rumors, but recently, there have been leaks about thenew character Escoffier inGenshin Impact5.6, who may be a Cryo unit who is expected to make Skirk stronger when the swordswoman of legend is eventually released. Now, the leaks cite a map expansion.

New Natlan Area Has Leaked For Genshin Impact 5.6

The Region Is Said To Be West Of The Volcano

Although Version 5.5 is getting a massive Natlan map update with Atocpan and its Great Volcano of Tollan, the Nation of Pyro may continue to expand with the arrival of Version 5.6. According to information from an uncredited leaker,Version 5.6 will introduce a brand-new map area in the shape of a small island located to the southwest of the aforementioned volcano. The leak, which was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” onReddit, also shows a supposed image of this location on the map. While it looks like an island, it doesn’t seem to be surrounded by water.

Adequately building Varesa in Genshin Impact can improve her presence as an Electro Plunging Attack DPS in teams and against enemies on the field.

Instead, this area seems to be surrounded by sand, as the color chosen to surround the leaked island is brown – somewhat similar to Sumeru’s Great Red Sand desert region. The island itself, on the other hand, seems to be darker and more inclined to a red hue, as if it were molten lava that is just starting to cool off. It is uncertain how far away this leaked map area will be from thevolcano inGenshin Impactand if they have any connection, but it does seem like volcanic activity may also take place in the upcoming area.

Genshin Impact 5.6’s Leaked Map May Feature A New World Boss

The Opponent May Be The Same From Version 5.5

In addition to the information about the Natlan area itself, this same leak also mentions that the upcoming map expansion will bring forth a new world boss for players to face. Subsequently, this new world boss is said to drop materials, which will likely be used in the Ascension process of future characters – possibly even Escoffier, despite the rumors of her being from Fontaine. This particular leak does not share more information about the rumored boss, such as its name, type, or behavior, but it is sustained by other leaks about an upcoming worldboss inGenshin Impact5.6.

Genshin Impact 5.5: Should You Pull For Varesa Or Xianyun?

Varesa and Xianyun will appear in Genshin Impact 5.5’s Phase 1 banners, and choosing between them requires knowing their kits and where they fail.

According to an image shared by an unknown leaker, the new world boss for Version 5.6 will be a large Automaton with arms. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit. As seen in the image provided by the alleged leak, this seems to be the very same Automaton enemy that is featured at the end of the official trailer for Version 5.5– which raises speculation that HoYoverse may reuse a special enemy encounter from Version 5.5 and incorporate it as a permanent world boss in the game.

This special boss appears during the newWorld Quests inGenshin Impact5.5.

This boss encounter may be limited to the World Quests during the current patch, but players may be able to repeatedly face it in the future if this is truly the enemy that will be added with Version 5.6. Of course, there’s a chance that the image is but a representation to show that the world boss rumored for Version 5.6 is a large Automaton and not necessarily the same one that is featured in Version 5.5. Even so, with two different sources, it seems likely that players will get at least a new world boss inGenshin Impact5.6.

How Genshin Impact 5.6’s Leaked Boss & Map May Connect To Mare Jivari

The Region Has Disappeared From Teyvat

Even though the details about this new map area in Natlan and its world boss are still scarce, they do seem like a prelude to the anticipated introduction of Mare Jivari, rumored to occur later this year. The first clue to this is how this new Natlan map area seems to be surrounded by sand rather than water or other types of topography. Mare Jivari is said to be a harsh and scorching desert region from which people have a hard time exiting once they enter. Another key detail aboutMare Jivari inGenshin Impactis that it has disappeared.

Genshin Impact 5.5: Should You Pull For Varesa If You Already Have Xiao?

Because of the similarities between Varesa and Xiao in Genshin Impact, players may be unsure about whether or not they pull for the new character.

According to the Version 5.2 events, between two and three decades before the events of the game, a powerful yet mysterious creature started roaming Mare Jivari and, after that, the region disappeared. The area on which it once stood is now occupied by a settlement; this may be what is shown in the leaked map area for Version 5.6. Another point of interest is that Mare Jivari is confirmed to be in the westernmost area of Natlan, and the leaked area is said to be located southwest of Atocpan, which is currently the westernmost portion of Natlan inGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact’s Mavuika adjusts her glasses as she rides her Flamestrider.

If its leaked location on the map is accurate, it would match Mare Jivari’s description. However,Mare Jivari itself has disappeared, so this leaked location may be where players will access Mare Jivari once HoYoverse decides to release the inhospitable region. The leaked boss may also be the exact creature that was roaming Mare Jivari before its disappearance – and if it proves to be a large Automaton with unprecedented power, it could tie in with how the entire region disappeared.

There is a chance that Mare Jivari’s disappearance is connected to the Ley Lines and, possibly, even the Fatui’s Loom of Fate operation.

Genshin Impact’s Varesa and Xiao are side by side. Xiao is in black and white.

For now, the leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as it is still early to evaluate the validity of the information. Furthermore, a lot may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to change. Even so, the introduction of a new Natlan region to the west of the volcano sparks hope for the release of Mare Jivari and, hopefully, a better understanding of Teyvat itself since it seems to play an important role inGenshin Impact’s lore.
