Sam Neill as Dr Alan Grant in the jungle in Jurassic Park 3

No. I reread the two novels to get myself back in that mode though. We did take some things from them. There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for.We were like, “Hey, we get to use that now.” But just to get back in that head space 30 years later — is it still fun? And the answer is yes, it still really is. Dinosaurs are still fun.

What The Jurassic Park Sequence Means For Jurassic World Rebirth

Which Michael Crichton Sequences Could Be Included?

Jurassic Parkis a faithful adaptation of Crichton’s novel in many ways, butthere are a number of elements from the book that weren’t included in Spielberg’s film. The movie, for example, does away with much of the scientific dialogue from the book, but there are entire sequences that also didn’t make the cut. One sequence that didn’t make it in, for example, features escaped dinosaurs attacking the citizens of Costa Rica, including a newborn baby.

Jurassic Park: Biggest Differences Between The Book & Spielberg’s Movie

Jurassic Park differs significantly from Michael Crichton’s novel, including which characters live and die, and some major parts of the story.

Other sequences that Koepp could be referring to include Dr. Alan Grant examining a dinosaur breeding site; an intense encounter aboard the park’s Jungle River Cruise ride; Lex, Tim, and Dr. Grant’s escape from a T-rex aboard a raft; the death of John Hammond; and the destruction of Isla Nublar. Though Sam Neill and other originalJurassic Parkactors aren’t reprising their roles as part of theJurassic World Rebirthcast, any number of these sequences could be repurposed to include different characters.

Our Take On Koepp’s Jurassic World Rebirth Tease

It’s Time For A Return To The Franchise’s Roots

After the world-alteringJurassic World Dominionending, the upcoming installment seemingly takes a back-to-basics approach with the franchise. Edwards recently toldEmpirethatRebirth"goes back to what [he] loves about the original,“and he’s also likened the movie to other early Spielberg classics. Koepp’s latest reveal about the inclusion of aJurassic Parksequence, then, tracks with the larger approach that’s being taken with the movie.

Jurassic World Dominionreviews were generally negative from critics, and the response toJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom(2018) was mixed. The upcoming installment, with its return to what made the original so beloved, could end up breaking this lackluster critical trend. Though many questions remain aboutJurassic World Rebirth, Koepp’s latest tease only makes the movie even more exciting.
