For March 2025, Team GO Leader Sierra is back inPokémon GOto stop players in their tracks. Changes may be afoot inPokémon GOwith the current season, Dual Destiny, ending on March 4, but Team GO Rocket will still cause problems for trainers. Despite changes in January, Sierra returns with the same line-up from February. This may change throughout the month when the new season starts, but for now, she will start March 2025 with the same seven Pokémon as in previous months.
After defeating six Team GO Rocket Grunts, likePokémon GO’s Ke Ke Ke,you will be able to face one of the three Team GO Rocket Leaders. Once you are at this stage, each time you spin a Poké Stop Team GO Rocket has taken over or a Rocket balloon, you will encounter one of the Leaders at random: Sierra, Arlo, or Cliff. Once you find Sierra, you will be in for a tough battle that you have to enter prepared for, or you’re able to quickly be swept aside, even if you have faced off against her before.

Sierra’s second Pokémon will be eitherWater-type Milotic, Fire-type Ninetales, or Steel- and Grass-type Ferrothorn. Ground
As Sierra will always lead with Skorupi, you should use a Fire-, Flying-, Psychic- or Rock-type Pokémon, which will give you an advantage over it. My personal choice currently isLegendary Fire-type Ho-Oh. By selecting a Fire-type, you may make quick work of Skorupi, as well as Sierra’s potential second Pokémon, Ferrothorn, who is only weak against Fire-types, and Ho-Oh is one of the best choices to do this.

Ground-types are key to this battle, with four of Sierra’s seven potential Pokémon being weak against it. The powerhouseGroudon iswidely regarded as one of the strongest Ground-types inPokémon GOand should be switched in when facing Ninetales, Houndoom, Nidoqueen, or Drapion as it is super-effective against them all.
Sticking with the Legendary theme, an Electric- or Grass-type Pokémon should be included as your third choice in case Sierra uses Milotic. My preference is Generation OneZapdos, as I have found it will quickly overpower the Water-type Pokémon. However, any strong Pokémon with one of these two types should be able to defeat it.
Rewards For Beating Sierra In Pokémon GO
A Shadow Pokémon And Items On Offer
While the rewards aren’t as good as when youbeat Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni, it is still worthwhile to beat Sierra this month. The main reward is the chance to capture Shadow Skorupi. As soon as you have defeated Sierra, this encounter will start automatically. You should use Golden Berries to give yourself a better chance of catching it.
Currently, in 12km eggs, you may hatch one of eight Pokémon. Sandile, Pawniard, Vullaby, Deino, Pancham, Salandit, Larvitar or Varoom.
In addition, if you have space in your egg inventory, you will receive a12km red eggalong with further items at random. These are selected from4x Revives, 2x Max Revives, 4x Hyper Potions, 2x Max Potions, or a Unova Stone.Sierra’s line-up is currently easier to defeat than some previous versions of her team, but you should select the best counters inPokémon GOto increase your chances of victory.
