Below Deck Mediterraneanis one of the most enjoyable reality shows on TV, but I think the producer plants are ruining the spin-off in season 9. Captain Sandy Yawn leads the crew on the Mustique again, and while familiar fan-favorite Chief Stew Aesha Scott has been a welcome addition, the rest of the cast has been a bit of a mess.Elena “Ellie” Dubaich and Bri Muller are feudingover mediocre lead deckhand Joe Bradley, Bri can’t get the laundry right, andEllie might start a war with Aeshaover rank.
The mess onBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9doesn’t stop there. Chef Johnathan “Jono” Shillingford nearly killed a guest by serving her raw seafood after a rocky start to the charter season, and Bosun Iain Maclean has some of the worst communication and leadership skills the franchise has ever seen. Captain Sandy is out of her depth, failing to replace Chef Jono and calling in new stew Carrie O’Neill as a Hail Mary to save her interior crew. While drama is expected, the producers have gone too far inBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9.

Below Deck Med Season 9 Seems More Produced Compared To Past Seasons
There Are Too Many Producer Plants
I can’t be the only one watchingBelow Deck Mediterraneanand thinking the show seems more produced compared to past seasons. It’s no secret that reality TV shows are heavily edited and influenced by producers, butBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9 is out of control. How did Chef Jono miss a raw seafood allergy on the guest sheet? How is it possible for Bri to be so bad at laundry?Joe is walking around the boat in a stinky shirt because Bri is incapable of getting crew uniforms back to their owners despite the clear labeling of their names.
The Alleged Producer Plants Makes The Show Seem Fake
Bri Needs To Go
Chef Jono andBri are alleged producer plants, and the evidence is pretty clear. There’s no way Captain Sandy would allow such incompetency to run rampant on her yacht otherwise. While it seems there’s no replacement for Chef Jono, that’s likely a way to incite drama on the show.
The producer plants are ruiningBelow Deck Mediterranean; it’s insulting to fans' intelligence.

Additionally, while Captain Sandy noted that she’s never fired an entry-level stew, Bri is awful. Doing the laundry, while a huge job on a luxury yacht like the Mustique, shouldn’t be this hard. When Bri is given feedback, she simply crumbles. She speaks in a whiny voice and consistently victimizes herself. Why hasn’t Bri been fired? In my opinion,Bri’s a producer plant to antagonize Ellie and stir up drama.
Below Deck Viewers Want The Real Drama, Not Something Produced
Let The Crew Members Be Themselves
Below Deckfans want real drama, not something created by the producers. Putting half a dozen twenty-somethings, many of whom are single, together on a boat for a summer should create enough of its own drama.Producers don’t need to step in to make a chef or a stew look bad; they’ll do it themselves throughout the season.

Chef Jono seems like a competent chef most of the time, and it’s offensive to stir up drama by setting him up to fail. Furthermore, Bri just isn’t entertaining anymore. It’s too obvious that she was planted by producers to mess with everyone else. Hopefully,Below Deck Mediterraneanproducers will learn their lesson.
