WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for WONDER WOMAN #18!

I always knewWonder Womanwas powerful—after all, she’s DC’s strongest female superhero. But Tom King’s latestWonder Womanissue just shattered my understanding of her strength. DC didn’t just confirm she’s powerful—they proved she’s at least three times stronger than a god-like, world-ending villain. This isn’t just impressive; it’s a game-changer.

For several issues, Diana has been adjusting to her new role as a mother, but now, she’s taking the fight to the Sovereign himself, storming his current stronghold—the White House. As she crosses the lawn, she faces a series of powerful deterrents, including weaponry designed to take down a Mongul-level threat.

…this feat is a game-changer in how I, and many others, will perceive Wonder Woman’s power levels moving forward…

Wonder Woman Is at LEAST THREE TIMES Stronger Than Mongul

Comic Page Comes From Tom King’sWonder Woman#18 (2025) – Art by Daniel Sampere & Tomeu Morey

Wonder Woman#18depicts Diana advancing toward the White House, with Sampere’s art showcasing the heavy artillery aimed at her. The Sovereign’s narration reveals that ever since Earth’s first superheroes emerged, the government has been developing countermeasures against them,“incorporating technologies of scientists both mad and alien.”Among these defenses are projectiles designed to neutralize a“Mongul-level threat.”However, rather than firing just one,the Sovereign and the U.S. government launch all three at Diana—an attack they undoubtedly believed would be fatal.

Sampere’s art captures the moment as Diana raises herBracelets of Submission, absorbing the full force of the projectiles, engulfing her in flames. Yet when the fire clears, Wonder Woman remains standing—a staggering display of power. Considering that each projectile was designed to eliminate a Mongul-level threat, the fact that Diana withstood all three at once speaks volumes about her strength, suggesting she is at least three times more powerful than Mongul—an already incredible feat.

Mongul is one of DC’s most formidable villains, known as the warlord ruler of Warworld—a massive, mobile battle planet built for conquest and gladiatorial combat. He is among Superman’s deadliest foes and has battled Batman, the Green Lantern Corps, Wonder Woman, and other major heroes. Possessing immense superhuman strength, durability, and combat skills, Mongul is often portrayed as being on par with or even surpassing some of DC’s mightiest champions. For Wonder Woman to withstand three projectiles capable of taking him down isn’t just extraordinary—it’s a game-changer in how I, and many others, will perceive her power levels moving forward.

Absolute PowerConfirmed Wonder Woman’s Power Levels Rival Kryptonians

Wonder Woman’s power levels have been explored beyond Tom King’s run, most recently in Mark Waid and Dan Mora’sAbsolute Powercrisis event. InAbsolute Power#1, Amanda Waller unleashes a team of power-stealing Amazo robots to target Earth’s heroes. As part of their mission, these robots scan the heroes’ power levels. The Amazo named Last Son confirms that Superman possesses the highest possible power level, while the other,Paradise Lost, reveals that Wonder Woman’s power level falls between that of young Kryptonians and Superman himself. This suggests that while Diana may not be as powerful as the Man of Steel, she still possesses Kryptonian-level strength.

Kryptonians may be strong, but how does a hero as mighty as Wonder Woman compare to them? A surprising analysis reveals Diana’s true power.

I Think It’s Safe to Say Amanda Waller’s Amazos Underestimated Wonder Woman

WhileAbsolute Powerconfirms that Wonder Woman’s power levels are exceptional, I believe that even this narrative underestimates Diana’s true strength. InWonder Woman#18, she took the full impact of three Mongul-ending projectiles without so much as a scratch. Since Mongul has posed a significant challenge to Superman, this feat suggests that Wonder Woman’s power levels should be portrayed much closer to Clark’s. Simply labeling her strength as Kryptonian-level doesn’t fully capture her capabilities. At this point in her narrative, I’d argue thatWonder Womanis not only just shy ofSuperman’spower levels—she may very well be his equal.
