More than a year after the revival was cancelled by Paramount+,iCarlystar and executive producer Miranda Cosgrove teases a continuation of the series. Paramount confirmed that it was not moving forward withiCarlyseason 4 in October 2023, though the streamer praised the revival and cited the fact that fan-favorite couple Carly Shay (Cosgrove) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Cress) had finally gotten together. Since then, however, Cosgrove has hinted that the popular young adult series may not be done for good.
During a recent appearance onThe Talk, according toDeadline, Cosgrove offered an update that a continuation ofiCarlyis in the works. Though the actor and producer couldn’t provide specifics, she did hint that the project wouldbring back fan-favorite characters and resolve the cliffhangerthat the revival ended on:
I’m not allowed to 100% confirm anything yet but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works.

iCarlyseason 3 ends with the tease ofCarly’s mother finally being introduced. Though she isn’t shown on-screen, it’s clear that her presence would be a major factor if season 4 happened. It’s looking likely now that Carly’s mom will be the focus of aniCarlymovie, which Cosgrove has talked about. It would also bring further clarity to Freddie and Carly, who ended the revival on somewhat shaky ground.

Given the likelihood thatiCarlycould be back, at least audiences would get a complete ending for the story that began back in 2007.
