She presents Spider-Man with an orb and tells him she wins if he puts it down. Peter asks if the orb causes pain, but Cyra says that it just reveals truth.She hands the sphere over to Spider-Man and tells him to hold onto ituntil it has nothing left to share.

Strange had previously made deals with the avatars of powerful entities, but rather than make deals, Doom chose to have a champion fight in his place. Armed with a magical set of armor and handful of extra lives,Spider-Man embarked on his new mission andfought the Scions of Cyttorak, siblings who each represent the inevitability of concepts like time, death, or pain. It’s taken some clever thinking on Spider-Man’s part, but he’s defeated over half of the Scions.

Now Peter is obviously well aware that he doesn’t have the power to save everyone in his life. But it’s a huge difference to know that and to see it play out right in front of his face. It was watching Uncle Ben die that helped Peter learn everything he knows about power and responsibility. But Cyra is utilizing the eventual deaths of everyone that Spider-Man loves to torment him, possibly stop him by pointing out the futility of his actions. There’s no doubt that watching his friends and family die is going to be traumatic. But Spider-Man has an inner strength that can’t be easily done away with a vision, no matter how terrible. There’s no doubt that what Peter is about to see will be awful, but it’s not going to be enough to stopSpider-Man.
