Screen Rantinterviewed Tallman at D23 about the reality of the spin-off show. Tallman explained that the show will be something completely new, andthe production has already been “special” for Pixar. The spinoff show is going to be so fun. It’s so unique, and it’s something that Pixar has never really done before. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s so funny; every single scene is just so incredible, and it’s shot in a really special way. I think our fans are really going to love it. The Spin-Off Will Reveal More From Riley’s Life
WhileInside Out 3awaits confirmation, Pixar is already hard at work on another iteration of the franchise.Dream Productionsis expected to be a four-episode miniseriesstarring Tallman, Amy Poehler (Joy), Maya Rudolph (Anxiety), and more familiar voices. As the title indicates, it will focus on Riley’s dreams and the studio that has been creating them throughout her life. Word of the spin-off was first announced in 2023 with Mike Jones (Luca,Soul) attached to write and executive produce the show.
The spin-off will also have a unique setting for the franchise. Instead of taking place during one of the first two movies,it will tell the story of Riley’s life between 11 and 13 years old. While the first movie reckons with Riley’s struggle to settle in San Francisco, its sequel features Riley’s entirely established life. The spin-off, however, will offer Pixar the opportunity to showcase every stage of her growth and her life in middle school. It is an entirely new opportunity for the franchise and Pixar, and the bizarre dream setting could ensure interesting visuals.

With Amy Pohler as Joy, Bill Hader as fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, the all-star cast brought to life the emotions that adolescents face as they grow, change, and adapt to new situations.
