Dexter’s Biological Father Is Named Joe Driscoll

Dexter: Original Sinepisode 2 appears to include a scene of Dexter Morgan’s biological father, Joe Driscoll. During a flashback with Harry Morgan as an undercover cop,Dexter’s mother, Laura Moser, deals cocaine with her boyfriend Joebefore Harry busts him on the spot. Laura tries to run away beforeHarry’s Miami Metro partner Bobby Wattsteps in to help. Harry ends up interrogating Laura and tells her that Joe is 100% going to prison, so she might as well talk.
However,it’s not entirely clear if this drug dealer Joe is Dexter’s biological father inDexter: Original Sinepisode 2. It was established in the original series that Dexter’s biological father Joe Driscoll was a former drug addict and dealer, so it could potentially be him and would make sense if it were. Joe Driscoll is not listed in the credits ofDexter: Original Sin, so there’s no way of knowing for sure if it really is him or if he’ll have a bigger role as the series continues into February 2025.
Joe was in prison and out of the picture when Laura was killed
If the drug dealer inDexter: Original Sinepisode 2 turns out to be Joe Driscoll, Dexter’s biological father, then Joe will be in prison for quite some time for dealing drugs. Joe served time in prison and was out of the picture when Laura Moser was killed, which is why Harry became Dexter’s biological father.Joe Driscoll is mentioned in Dexter season 1 and is killed by Dexter’s brother Brian Moser, the Ice Truck Killer. Dexter believed up until that point that his father died when he was a child.Dexter: Original Sincould elaborate on where Joe is while Dexter begins his vigilante serial killing career.
