AlthoughJujutsu Kaisen’smanga ended back in September 2024, it was recently announced that an extended epilogue would be released to expand the finale that had already debuted. One of the most moving details added in these additional pages related to Choso and his death, which occurred in chapter 259. AsChoso and his brother Yujifought against the King of Curses, Sukuna, he nearly killed them both with flames. Rather than allow his brother to perish,Choso valiantly died for Yuji’s sake.This manga scene of bravery can be seen in an X post by@Go_Jover, chronicling Choso’s most selfless moment.
Choso’s sacrifice was one of the manga’s most sorrowful, but significant scenes, since him and Yuji’s relationship was not always so positive. At the beginning of his arc, Choso aligned himself with Kenjaku and the Disaster Curses, seeking revenge on Yuji for killing his brothers, Eso and Kechizu. Choso was unaware Yuji was related to him as well, but once he realized this fact, he immediately swore to fight alongside Yuji instead, protecting his last living blood relative from harm. Thus, it was particularly meaningful that Choso so willingly laid down his life for Yuji, proving how close the pair had grown.

In the additional finale expansion scene,posted by @Go_Jover on X, Choso encounters Eso and Kechizu one last time, apologizing to his brothers for allowing them to die so many years ago, an occurrence he still felt guilt over.His brothers respond with understanding and compassion,telling Choso not to apologize so much and that they fully forgive him because “we’re the ones who forced the role of looking after our youngest brother onto you..” At the end of the panel, they tell Choso it is “time to pick [his] final words,” to which Choso responds “Right…,” as it sinks in that he has reached his death.
Jujutsu Kaisen Isn’t Over Yet: A Special Epilogue Is Coming For the Manga
Jujutsu Kaisen’s final two volumes will be published at the end of 2024, and they contain an exclusive epilogue that fans are sure to be excited for.
Fans will be grateful for the extra panels added toChoso’s death scene, because, since his brothers were deceased before Choso was introduced to the story, the trio of siblings never had a chance to interact otherwise. Choso’s overarching goal in life was to keep his brothers safe, and the way he died was the culmination of this aim, as he saved his one remaining sibling, Yuji, from dying during the Sukuna fight.Chosopatched up his relationship with Yuji by the end ofJujutsu Kaisen,and now, with this finale scene,he has cleared the air between him, Eso, and Kechizu too.
