Kathryn Hahn’s new comments following the finale ofAgatha All Alongseem to imply Agatha Harkness won’t be returning to theMCU, which makes me very upset.Agatha All Alonghas quickly become one of my favorite Marvel Studios projects, particularly since it carries on many of the themes started inWandaVision, which I also loved, and putsKathryn Hahn’s charismatic and captivating Agatha Harknessfront-and-center. Agatha Harkness was the perfect little-known Marvel Comics character to get a solo series in the MCU, and I would love to see her return.

Agatha All Alongcame to an end on October 30, with the finale exploringAgatha Harkness' history with Nicholas Scratch, her experiences with her coven on the Witches' Road and her sacrifice to Death and return as a ghost. I lovedAgatha All Along’sfinale, “Maiden Mother Crone,” especially since it set up the next chapter of the storyline started inWandaVision. Agatha Harkness andJoe Locke’s Billy Maximoffseemed to set off on a new adventure, butKathryn Hahn’s new comments have me worried that Agatha may not actually return.

Kathryn Hahn’s Latest MCU Comments Discuss Agatha All Along As A “Way To Say Goodbye” To Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness May Not Be Returning After Agatha All Along

In November 2024, Kathryn Hahn spoke to theLA Timesabout her recent stint inAgatha All Along, noting that Agatha Harkness is"the part [she’s] supposed to play at this period of [her] life.“I could see how much passion Kathryn Hahn had forAgatha All Along, butHahn stating that the series finale was a"beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye"has me worried that this is the end for Agatha Harkness. I really want to seeAgatha Harkness return to the MCU, and while Hahn’s comments suggest this won’t happen, she does leave the door open.

Of course, I love this part and I love Joe Locke madly, and we’ll see what the future holds. In my mind, this was a beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye to this incredible character I had to play.

I’m Still Hopeful Agatha Harkness Will Return To The MCU

Agatha All Along Teased Agatha Harkness' Return

While Kathryn Hahn’s comments support the idea she won’t return, given that she has said"goodbye"to Agatha Harkness, her stating that"we’ll see what the future holds"creates the opportunity for her to return. I would love to see this happen, especially since there is a lot more to Agatha Harkness that we haven’t seen. In Marvel Comics, Agatha Harkness spends much of her career as the ghostly mentor to Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch, so seeingAgatha evolve into a ghost inAgatha All Alongmakes me hopeful this is just the beginning of her story.

Agatha Harkness’ Unique MCU Power Is Explained In Shocking Mutant Theory

Marvel Studios hasn’t explained one huge aspect of Agatha Harkness' power set in the MCU, spurring theories that the witch may be more than she seems.

Agatha Harkness brings light, fun, entertainment but also a brilliant darkness to the MCU that I am desperate to see developed in the franchise’s future. With future spinoffs fromWandaVisionexpected in the future,I reckon the door is wide open for Agatha Harkness to return, especially sinceAgatha All Along’sfinale ended with her leaving Westview with Billy Maximoffin the hopes of tracking down hisnewly-resurrected brother, Tommy Maximoff. This makes me think Agatha Harkness has an easy route back into the MCU, and there are several upcoming projects that could bring her back.

Where & When Agatha Harkness Is Most Likely To Return To The MCU

There’s Another WandaVision Spinoff Yet To Release

Since Kathryn Hahn made her MCU debut inWandaVision, and had her witchy villain developed further in the Phase 4 series' first spinoff,Agatha All Along, it seems easy to assume that Agatha Harkness will return inWandaVision’snext spinoff. TheMCU’s upcomingVisionserieswill catch up with Paul Bettany’s White Vision in the wake of his departure inWandaVision’sfinale.I’ve also speculated that Tommy Maximoff will have a larger role in theVisionseries, which would constitute an appearance by Billy Maximoff and his spirit guide, Agatha Harkness.

It was confirmed in May 2024 thatStar Trek: Picard’sTerry Matalas will be theVisionseries' showrunner, and the series is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026 as part of the MCU’s Phase 6.

While Agatha Harkness is the Scarlet Witch’s ghostly mentor in Marvel Comics, it seems she has been connected in this fashion to Billy Maximoff in the MCU. Joe Locke’s aged-up hero, Wiccan, is expected to be involved with theMCU’s upcoming Young Avengers team, andAgatha could continue to be his guide in an as-yet-unconfirmed Young Avengers-centric project. I would love for Kathryn Hahn’s new ghost to whisper in Billy Maximoff’s ear long afterAgatha All Along, and I’d be thrilled if this culminated in her eventual resurrection in a corporeal form.
