LCS 2023 Kickoff: Why are there so many major region teams?

If you’ve been looking at social media recently you might have seen the major regions posting their multiple teams for the Season Kickoff event. Each region will get to broadcast its teams to show off their talent, and for the smaller regions this will likely mean fewer teams.

But for the major regions, they will have multiple teams who will play each other first and then the overall winners of these matches will progress onto the main event to play for their regional pride. The way teams work for this event is based on the region and will likely differ from region to region, especially wildcard regions compared to major regions.

The event will start on January 10 and 11 to mark the start of the 2023 season across the regions and the ranked season. It’s time to get excited LoL Esports fans, as this event promises to live up to the legacy of All-Stars and go even further.
