PerPeople, first look images have been revealed forLionessseason 2. A series of six images were unveiled for the show’s sophomore season, giving a look at theLionesscharacters in new situations.
In the first image, several of the leads sit in the president’s office, looking serious as they appear to figure out an upcoming plan. In one of the more jarring images, Saldaña’s Joe is seen in uniform, with blood splattered across her face. Another image showsa first look at Genesis Rodriguez, who was an addition toLionessseason 2.

Joe’s Journey Will Likely Take Twists & Turns
While five of the images show theLionessstars that are returning from the debut season, the image of Rodriguez is the first look at the actor in the role.Rodriguez was cast inLionessseason 2back in May. She will play a character named Josephina Carillo, nicknamed “Josie,” who has been described as “a fierce and dedicated helicopter pilot.” The image shows Josie hard at work, as she stands in front of a helicopter.

Taylor Sheridan’s star-studded series Lioness features Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, and Zoe Saldana yet still received poor reviews among critics.
In addition to the reveal of the main images, Saldaña spoke out regarding some of the key points ofLionessseason 2. The actor mentioned that her character,Joe, is “taking time off,“focusing on her relationship with her husband and her young daughter instead of her job. The actor mentioned that Joe is “in a really good place” to start off season 2. The closer look at Joe in these images, however, suggests that said placidity may not last for long inLionessseason 2.
Zoe Saldana: Joe is taking time off, which is what she wanted,” Saldaña says. “She is spending time mending her marriage and rehabilitating her relationship with her daughter. She’s just spending time with her family… Joe and Neal are in a really good place at the start of the season.
In addition to teasing her own character,Saldana spoke very highly of her work with Rodriguezon the series. The actor called Rodriguez a “breath of fresh air” and someone who is “sweet, kind, and so professional.” Between the high praise for the newLionessactor, hints at Joe’s character, and first-look images, the new information aboutLionesspromises a second season that is even more exciting than the first.
