What Lioness Season 2’s New Storyline Means For The Show

How Season 2 Of The Paramount+ Show Will Be Different From Season 1

Season 1 followed Joe and her new recruit, Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), as they infiltrate a terrorist organization in order to take down a notorious arms dealer. TheLionessseason 1 endingwraps this story up, andCruz is seemingly not set to return in season 2, with Joe instead set to embark on an entirely new mission with a new recruit. Should the show get renewed for season 3, which seems likely if season 2 repeats the viewership success of season 1, it’s possible that a similar approach will be taken.

Taylor Sheridan has been a great asset for Paramount, developing several original shows from Yellowstone to the new Law Men: Bass Reeves.

As for season 2’s story, the trailer teases thatthere will be even more action this time around, including on American soil. Thad Luckinbill returns in season 2 as Kyle, this time a series regular, and the trailer would suggest that he could be pursuing his own goals, potentially coming into conflict with Joe. A core part of the balance of season 1 was high-stakes action coupled with the shadowy world of CIA operations, where laws are broken and everyone has their own agenda – this looks to be returning in force in season 2.

Our Take On Lioness Season 2’s New Trailer

What Other Sheridan Project Season 2 Resembles

In addition to shows in the largerYellowstoneuniverse, Sheridan has a long list of writing credits, including the critically-acclaimedSicario(2015). This movie – directed by Denis Villeneuve – is all about the blurring of legal lines as a specialized task force works to take down drug cartels operating at the U.S.– Mexico border.Lionessseason 2 certainly looks to have aSicarioflavor to it, with CIA task forces operating on U.S. soil and the body count starting to rise.

Season 1 was just as much about Joe’s tumultuous life at home as it was about her mission, and it’s not immediately clear whether that will still be the case in season 2. Joe’s husband, Neal, and her daughter, Kate, do appear in the trailer, but only briefly. While many questions remain aboutLionessseason 2, the new season looks like it will be an action-packed outing.
