An architectural mishap during a chicken coop upgrade inStardew Valleyhas left players baffled and amazed at the resulting building. The building designs in the indie farming and life simulator look great but are generally focused on being functional rather than aesthetic. This glitch, though, changes the design of the chicken coop to something that would look perfectly at home in an M. C. Escher painting.
AStardew Valleyplayer who goes bypokegirl275on Reddit shared an image of their glitched-out chicken coop, with the apt title “Merry Glitchmas.” The coop doesn’t seem like it stayed that way for long, but the captured screenshotshows it looking like it’s made of strips that were put together incorrectly. Pokegirl275 is not complaining, though, instead finding it hilarious, exclaiming “What a fancy design!”

Stardew Valley Players Embrace The Architectural Mishap
Proclaim Themselves Fans Of The Non-Euclidian Chicken Coop
The chicken coop inStardew Valleyis usually a fairly boxy, straightforward building that’s utilitarian in nature and style. Thanks to this glitch, though, the upgraded version of the building gains a whole lot more personality. Many of the comments agree that they wouldn’t mind having their coop glitch out in a similar way. Reddit userMasterLiKhaosays they would actually wantRobin to build their chicken coopthis way, proclaiming, “This is ART!”
Stardew Valley Fans Called Out For Taking Nonsensical Route Explain They Do It For The Trash
Stardew Valley fans try to explain their tendency to take the long way through town, and it seems that the key is all in the trash scattered about.
Despite giving it a very interesting style, the chicken coop is certainly not supposed to look this way, and other players urge the original poster torush to the friendly local carpenter for help.DutchTimeLordBeanis concerned for the welfare of the chickens, asking “Are the animals okay?” It seems like the animals are unaffected by the very fabric of existence rearranging itself, with the coop being the only part of the game that looks like Robin “read the Ikea manual upside down,” asAnInnocentGooseputs it.

Our Take: This Stardew Valley Glitch Actually Looks Pretty Cool
The Glitch Gives The Coop A Gothic Style
I love the style ofStardew Valley’sbuildings, butI wouldn’t mind having more options for decorating the exteriors.Being able to unlock and apply different architectural styles to the farmhouse and its surrounding buildings would add even more fun options to the already robust experience of this cozy indie darling.
Berckishon Reddit calls the glitched building a “Biblically accurate coop” and I love the implication. It would be very in-character for developerConcernedApe to add an Easter egglike this, that would randomly glitch out the chicken coop if the player had too many void chickens. Alas, for the time being, this glitch is a bug and not a feature. Still, as far as glitches go, this cool-looking chicken coop inStardew Valleyis one that most players wouldn’t be too upset to get in their game.
