Monster Energy Supercross 25is an upcoming video game adaptation of the annual off-road motorcycle racing championship. The real-life event consists of a series of motorcycle races, held on off-road, jump-lined courses in stadiums throughout the country. The video game adaptation is much of the same, allowing players to experiment with realistic recreations of bikes, courses, and racers as they recreate this year’s events - or design their own.

One of themost anticipated racing gamesof the year,Monster Energy Supercrossmakes some major changesto its predecessors. Previous games likeMonster Energy Supercross 4were criticized for their grindy campaign and overly twitchy physics. But with new features to boost realism, improve CPU racer AI, and create a better-looking, smoother-playing simulation of supercross,Monster Energy Supercross 25has a fair chance at being the best game in the series to date. Here’s what we know about the title already.

Supercross 25 Trailer & Gameplay Details

What’s New In Supercross 25

Supercross 25brings a ton of new features to the series, a few of which are shown off in its “Breaking New Ground” trailer as seen above. The first, and perhaps most interesting, isthe introduction of real-time, variable ruts, which will appear on tracks as players race over them - in essence, the more riders pass over a particular section of track, the deeper ruts will begin to appear there. This will impact handling through and around these ruts, so players will have to compensate for their appearance, potentially changing their strategies as a race goes on.

In addition, rider AI has undergone a complete overhaul. When playing against CPU racers, they won’t simply follow a single strategy: they’ll change up their tactics throughout a race, not just in response to material conditions of the track like evolving ruts, but also to cope with the player character’s own strategies and performance. In conjunction with the ever-changing tracks, these rider tactics aim to create more interesting, dynamic races, in which players must adapt to ever-shifting conditions instead of simply finding a good trajectory and sticking to it.

Riding physics have also seen some significant changes.Supercross 25uses a new, weight-based systemto change how bikes handle. The rider’s weight, along with the weight of their vehicle, will change how they handle various obstacles. The development team at Milestone promises significant impact on how racers handle both whoops and faster sections of the track; you’ll need to carefully manage your rider’s positioning in order to counterbalance the bike’s unpredictable movement and maintain control over your trajectory. In addition, this weight-shifting mechanic will allow you greater control over cornering, making for precise, if complicated, turns.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Could Beat Mario Kart 9 To Become The Best Racing Game Of 2025

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds looks to shake up the kart racing genre, proving the need for Mario Kart 9 to offer something new to the table.

New physics systems also aim to bring greater immersiontoSupercross 25. Players will find greater realism in the angles at which they have to steer their bikes, in no small part related to the new weight-based cornering system. Stick controls have been revamped to give players greater control over in-air movement, affecting the height and distance of their jumps, as well as allowing them to adjust the positioning of their landings. Maneuvers like whips and scrubs have been adjusted to be more rewarding; although they can be difficult to master inSupercross 25, pulling them off will grant you a major advantage.

Finally,Monster Energy Supercross 25is being made in Unreal Engine 5, which will allow for all these more detailed physics than its predecessors - not to mention better graphics. This is the firstSupercrossvideo game to be developed in Unreal Engine 5, so it should feel like a pretty major improvement to longtime fans of the series.

For now, that’s all we know aboutSupercross 25. It certainly looks like Milestone has been listening to fan feedback - the evolving ruts, in particular, have been a highly requested feature for the next entry in the series. Only time will tell whether all its hard work pays off inMonster Energy Supercross 25- but with an April 10 release date, fans won’t have very long to wait.
