“We just read we just did a read through of the last episode and the amount of crying… like the episode is very beautiful. But there’s also a deeper level of that, this was actually their childhood. They were 11 years old and grew up and fought this monster. And I’ve never seen so much heavy, heavy weeping from teenagers or young adults in my life.”

Will A Main Character Die?

Beyond what theStranger Thingsseason 4 finalesets up – namely, an incursion from the Upside Down into the real world with Hawkins as the epicenter – very little has been officially revealed about season 5. Harbour’s comment isn’t particularly surprising because, as he says, the show has been part of their lives for close to ten years. There’s understandably going to be a lot of emotion in such a situation, but the crying could also speak to the content of the episode itself.

7 Dead Stranger Things Characters Who Shouldn’t Return In Season 5

Stranger Things is about to release its final season, and it would do well to leave some of the characters from the show’s past in the past.

So far, the Duffers have been reluctant to kill off any core members of theStranger Thingscastof characters. Audiences said goodbye to Barb (Shannon Purser) in season 1, Bob (Sean Astin) in season 2, and Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) in season 4, but the central case has largely remained safe, save for Max (Sadie Sink) being put into a brain-dead state in the season 4 finale. It’s possible thatStranger Thingsseason 5 will finally kill a main character, and that would certainly make the finale an emotional ride.

The Netflix Show’s Finale Episode Will Be Emotional For Viewers Too

Stranger Thingshas been, since season 1, one of the best and most consistent Netflix originals, offering up equal doses of terror, action, and emotion. Unless season 5 takes an uncharacteristic dip in quality, the finale is going to be emotional for audiences because they’ll be saying goodbye to characters they’ve been spending time with since 2016.

Stranger Thingsseason 4 boasts an 86% critics' score onRotten Tomatoesand an 89% from audiences.

Harbour’s comment is far from a guarantee that a major character death is coming or that the finale will end on a tragic note. In all likelihood, the series will conclude on a hopeful, happy note. But his comment does serve as a reminder that the stakes inStranger Thingsseason 5 will be high, and audiences, like the cast, are probably in for quite the emotional roller coaster as the story barrels toward its conclusion.
