Nosferatudirector Robert Eggers has confirmed that the critically acclaimed 2024 horror movie will receive an extended cut.Nosferatuwas also written by Eggers, and is an adaptation of the 1922 silent film of the same name, which was an unauthorized adaption of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novelDracula. The movie tells the story of the vampire Count Orlok, who is obsessed with a woman, Ellen Hutter, and leaves his castle to be withher. Thecast ofNosferatuincludes Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Willen Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Jonhson, and Emma Corrin.
In an interview withEsquire UK, Eggers talked about a shot of Skarsgård’s Count Orlok that was included in the trailer but not the movie, and revealed thatthere is an extended cut ofNosferatu. The shot, which shows off Count Orlok as he is silhouetted from behind, will be included in the extended cut, along with many other new scenes. The first shot is a funny one because it’s one of those annoying things for film dorks because it’s not in the movie. It’s a really cool shot, we really like the shot but where it was intended it was actually ruining some tension to know that Bill was around when we needed to keep him more mysterious. But if you wish to purchase the Blu-ray, it is in the extended version of the film.
