Summary

Chapter 430 of theMy Hero Academiamanga revealed thatDeku, the series' protagonist, had to wait eight years to be allowed to become a hero once again. His amazing friends spent this time earning money to buy him the support items needed to help him regain the power he lost when One For All disappeared.

These items were inspired by theArmored All Might mech-suit Toshinori used in chapter #396against All For One. Woefully, the fact that Izuku’s mentor’s armor influenced the creation of his new suit hints at his future as a hero having been stripped away from him unjustly.

What’s Next For My Hero Academia After The Manga’s End?

My Hero Academia’s manga may be over, but there are still plenty of ways for fans to get their fix of the hit superhero series in the future.

The Time It Took To Create Deku’s Gauntlets Was Far Too Long

If Not for His Friends, Deku Would Have Been Left Unhappy

The extra pages ofMy Hero Academiavolume 39 contain a small butrevealing description of Toshinori’s Armored All Might. The contents of the page on which the suit is depicted explain that its creation was only possible thanks to its owner’s massive fortune, amassed during his time as the number one hero. It is heavily implied that technology such as this is extremely hard to reproduce and create. These revelations explainwhy Deku’s friends had to save money for almost a decadeto gift their friend his version of the armor.

While this may explain why Bakugo and Class 1-A could not afford the technology at the time, it does not explain why no one else helped Izuku continue his dream.Deku risked his life and gave up his Quirk to save not only Japan but the entire worldfrom All For One. If not for his determination to defeat the Symbol of Evil, his dreams of becoming a hero like All Might would have never been taken from him. It was because of his sacrifice that Deku was forced to give up his dream of being a hero.

The events of chapter #430 hint atthe Japanese government, and the rest of the world, never once trying to aid their saviorin pursuing his dreams. Although All Might’s fortune must have been incredibly vast, it is unlikely that he had more money than most governments in the world. There was no reason for them not to show their appreciation for the young man who sacrificed everything to help them. If not for Bakugo and their mutual friends, it is unlikely that Izuku would have ever been able to follow his dream.

Hero Society Might Not Have Changed as Much as First Imagined

Quirkless Individuals Are Still Seen as Weak

Izuku could have found a way to continue his heroic career, by being given a less technologically advanced support item while his friends worked on getting him his gauntlets.

The suit gifted to Izuku by his friends was undoubtedly an incredible boost to his power, but these items were not the only way in which he could continue his work as a hero. Many characters in the series have been seen fighting virtually Quirkless, like Class 1-A’s homeroom teacher, Eraserhead. Having a powerful ability like One For All is not what helped Deku become a real hero, it was his selfless and nurturing nature. Nevertheless, it seems as ifQuirkless people are still seen as inherently weaker in the world ofMy Hero Academia.

Armored All Might My Hero Academia

Izuku could have found a way to continue his heroic career, bybeing given a less technologically advanced support itemwhile his friends worked on getting him his gauntlets. The war against Shigaraki and his forces did cause massive changes in Hero Society, as proven by the better living conditions of Heteromorph individuals. Yet, there is no indication of improvement for Quirkless individuals, and Deku’s epilogue is the best example. Since he had no Quirk of his own, it seemed as if society decided that Deku could not pursue his dream any longer.

It is almost as if society cannot change its views on the value of an individual outside what their Quirk is. Another valuable example of this continued and toxic belief comes in the form of Dai’s classmates. Since the young man’s Quirk is not seen as powerful or flashy, most of his peers believe that he can never become a Hero. This kind of discriminatory behavior was supposed to be dissuaded after the war ended, to prevent more villains from being born from resentment. Lamentably, Hero Society seems unwilling to stop thinking of individuals with weak or no Quirks as weaker.

Dai surprised Deku exist after meeting him during chapter 430.

While tragic that Izuku had to abandon his dream for 8 years, the generosity of his friends has reignited his passion once again. TheMy Hero Academiafinale might not have been as happy for Deku as he deserved, but it does show the kind of amazing heroes the students of Class 1-A grew up to become. Deku’s new heroic persona might be just what society needs to stop seeing Quirkless individuals as less worthy.
