Among those images, something especially notable is howOne Piecehas given a sneak preview of what to expect from the iconic Mr. 3 in live-action, and while there isn’t much to go on, it’s still great to see so early into season 2’s production.

Near the bottom of the aforementioned collage, there’s an image of some of the wigs used in season 2, and sure enough, there’s a wig of Mr. 3’s topknot in the shape of the number 3. It can only be seen from the back, but with the shape of the hair and how the wig even maintains the signature point,Netflix’sOne Piecehas perfectly translated Mr. 3’s hair from the anime and manga into live-action.

What little there is to see of Mr. 3’s hair in live-action is great, especially since it plays into the biggest reason the show has been a hit. Live-action anime adaptations have always been contentious for numerous reasons, andthe biggest problem people commonly have with live-action anime adaptations is that they often abandon the writing and aesthetics of the original stories to tell something barely resembling the source material.Death Note,Cowboy Bebop, and especiallyDragonball Evolutionare guilty of this, and it’s a big part of why live-action anime have such a poor reputation with fans and critics.

More pitch-perfect costume designs are undoubtedly in store forOne Pieceseason 2, and if they’re as good as Mr. 3’s hair, they’ll all be great to see.
