SincePokémon TCG Pocket’s official release a few weeks ago, there has been no shortage of events, with the latest being the Genetic Apex Emblem Event. The event, centered around PvP battles, kicks off onNovember 7th, 2024, at 1 a.m. and runs until November 28th, 12:59 a.m. local time.
Aside from collecting, battles are one of the main focuses ofPokémon TCG Pocket,and many players have already begun carefully building unbeatable decks for use in the online battle system. Players can participate in PvP event battles to earn exclusive rewards as part of the Genetic Apex Emblem Event.
How To Complete The Genetic Apex Emblem Event
Win Against Other Players In Online Matches
When you open up thePokémon TCG Pocketapp during the event, head over to the battle tab at the bottom of your screen. Here, you should’ve already received a notification indicating theLapras EX drop eventwas going on in the Solo Battle section, but now you should also see an indication of an event happening under the Versus option. If you open that section, rather than just seeing Private Match and Random Match, like normal,you’ll see another option labeled Event Match.

The beginning of Pokémon TCG Pocket can be difficult, but by building one of these decks, even beginners can rival the strongest of players.
If you open the Event Match option, you can select your deck and initiatean onlinePokémon TCG Pocketbattle, similar to how the Random Match option works. However, looking to the left of your selected deck, you’ll see a small box indicating your number of wins. Initially, the box should say 0 wins and have an arrow indicating thatyou will unlock your first event reward once you have won at least one event match. To do this, simply hit battle and keep trying until you have your first win.
Whileyour wins do not need to be consecutive for this event,Pokémon TCG Pockethas indicated that this may be the case for future events, so be sure to double-check the rules when participating in battle-related events.
After your first win, you will have unlocked your initial rewards.Yourgoal is to keep competing until you have successfully won 45 online event matches. Once you reach 45, you will receive your last reward, and there will be nothing more to gain from this particular event, but you’re able to keep battling online if you choose to until the event period is over.

There are four tiers to the Genetic Apex Emblem Event,and you will need to successfully reach each one if you would like to claim all the rewards the event has to offer, as shown inTLSG Pokémon’s YouTube video. Initially, upon participating in your first match, you’ll receive a couple of Pack Hourglasses just for participation, but everything after that will only come as you win matches, not just participate in them.

you’re able to stop at any point, so even if online battles aren’t your thing, I recommend at least doing one, so you can get the Pack Hourglasses and maybe even the Shinedust and Participation Emblem if you happen to win. As for those who put in the work for the Gold Event Emblem, you can display it proudly on your profile for other players to see.

Given Mew’s rarity across various Pokémon games, it’s no surprise that Mew is just as hidden and difficult to unlock in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
All you need to do to equip your emblem is go to your main dashboard and click on your profile icon at the top of the screen. From there, scroll down just a little;youshould see Emblems under your battle record. There are three Emblem slots, so if you happen to have the Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Charizard ones from the store, you’ll need to select which one you want to remove. Tap the spot where you would like to place your new emblem and then select the Emblem from the pop-up.

Now, you should see the emblem on your profile page, and so will other online players and friends. While it may not be Poké Gold or Hourglasses, it is a great way to show off your skill inbattles inPokémon TCG Pocketand showcase your hard work in winning the amount of event matches you did. Even if you don’t reach the Gold Emblem, don’t be afraid to show off whichever Genetic Apex Event Emblem you end up with. After all, you earned it and should be proud.
