What This Means For Flow
Its Streaming Release Has Come At A Good Time
The Oscar-nominated movie’s streaming release debuting on Valentine’s Day could make itperfect either as a complement to or counterprogramming for the major theatrical releasescoming to the United States that weekend. TheupcomingCaptain America: Brave New Worldis set to premiere in theaters the same day asFlow, opposite the domestic debut ofPaddington in Peru. While the latter is also a movie with an animal protagonist, just likeFlow, the animated adventure story could potentially provide a perfect double feature with the more wholesome family movie.
Paddington in Peruis the third installment in the live-actionPaddingtonfranchise, which adapts the children’s book series by Michael Bond about an anthropomorphic bear.

This streaming debut also gives audiences ample time during which they can catch up withFlowat home ahead of the2025 Oscars. Additionally, if it wins against its competition in either category (which would beEmilia Pérez,The Girl with the Needle,I’m Still Here, andThe Seed of the Sacred Figfor International Feature andInside Out 2,The Wild Robot,Memoir of a Snail, andWallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowlfor Animated Feature), it isperfectly placed to receive a boost in viewership after the ceremonytakes place on March 2.
