Don Cheadle, who plays Rhodey in theMarvel Cinematic Universe, reflects on the skull twist and how it’d affect his upcoming movie,Armor Wars.Atthe end ofSecret Invasion,G’iah (Emilia Clarke) breaks into New Skrullos facility and finds Rhodey, who has been held hostage to be duplicated. His condition suggests that he has been there for a very long time, which means thata Skrull could have impersonated him in multiple MCU films.
Speaking withTVLine, Cheadle reflected on his reaction when he first heard that he would be playing a Skrull Rhodey inSecret Invasion.The actor revealed that"it was a request" rather than a “demand,“explaining thatthe part he played “was to set up stuff in the following thing.“However, he seems uncertain whether this story aspect will affectArmor Wars. “Uh… you know, there was no… it wasn’t a demand. It was a request. ‘What do you think about playing this?’ And it was to set up stuff in the following thing. So, if the following thing happens, and all those things were set up, then that’s one thing. If, as you said, it doesn’t, then we can talk about how I feel about it after!”

The Skrull twist is certainly one of the biggest intrigues of the upcoming project, given that viewers are curious about when Rhodey was abducted and whether a Skrull Rhodey was in his place in major MCU events.
