An animated Greek mythology sitcom from the creator ofRick and Mortyis coming to Netflix next month.Rick and Mortyseason 8 is slated to debut in 2025, though co-creator Dan Harmon has also been busy with several other high-profile projects. The long-awaitedCommunitymovie is active, with series star Ken Jeong recently revealing his emotional reaction to the script.
Rick and Mortyitself is continuing to go strong, as the animated sci-fi comedy has been renewed all the way through to season 12. This means that the two-time Emmy-winning hit will be on air through at least 2029. At the same time, another one of Harmon’s shows, which only premiered last year, may soon get a boost as it’s coming to Netflix.

The Story Is Set In Ancient Greece
Netflix will soon be getting the first season of Harmon’s animated Greek mythology sitcomKrapopolis. Debuting on Fox in September 2023, with a total of 23 episodes,Krapopolisintroduces its take on a mythologized Ancient Greece. Itcenters on a flawed family of humans, gods, and monsters trying to run one of the world’s first citieswithout killing each other. With a young human king in charge, Tyrannis (Richard Ayoade), he nonetheless gets help from a variety of creatures and deities.
Along with Ayoade, who is known for his role as Maurice Moss inThe IT Crowd,the mainKrapopolisvoice cast includes Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), Pam Murphy (Loot), Duncan Trussell (The Midnight Gospel), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso).
Krapopolisseason 1 will debut on Netflix in the United States on January 15. The comedy is currently airing season 2, which streams on Hulu, but there’s no word yet on whether the other installments will be available on Netflix. Nevertheless, the show’s first outing offers a good sample of what viewers can expect.

However, while the show’s had a strong launch, reviews forKrapopolisare mixed. Still, the consensus on Rotten Tomatoes points to a general endorsement. It reads, in part, “Krapopolis falls short of divine comedy but offers consistent enough chuckles…”

Perhaps the biggest reason to recommend the show is that there will be aKrapopolisseason 3 and beyond. That means that, for anyone that checks out the show and enjoys it, they won’t have to worry about a quick and unexpected cancellation. It likely won’t register as a top-tier or groundbreaking comedy, but it’sa generally solid adult animated series to add to the rotation.
