Iancu will give you a key to Razvan’s hut, which is where you’ll find Razvan’s journal containing the cantec to open the sealed door and decide Razvan’s fate once and for all.

Things didn’t go according to plan, and now he’s haunted by their deaths, suffering down in the temple alone. You have the choice to attack him right away, thoughyou’ll miss out on some interesting Marius dialogue. If you do, Razvan isn’t a difficult enemy, but he doesn’t have any notable loot on his corpse after taking him out.

What Happens If You Spare Razvan

Sparing Razvan Avoids Unnecessary Bloodshed

During your conversation with Razvan, you’ll start to understand that his mind has been twisted by the Dreamscourge, and it isn’t as clear-cut as him being a psychotic cult leader. You’ll have the option to consult Marius and let him voice his anger. Ultimately,Marius believes Razvan deserves to rot,and giving him a quick death is more than Marius thinks he deserves. After the conversation ends, Marius will still feel a bit ambivalent about the whole situation, but he’s grateful that you didn’t kill Razvan.

Avowed: Should You Kill Haiako & Katoa Or Reason With Them?

During the Don’t Look Down quest in Avowed, you can reason with Haiako & Katoa at the top of the tower - or kill them and take their gear.

In terms of loot, you’ll have access to all the same rewardsas above, including the Battletrance mace. At this point, you will need to return to Iancu and fill him in on Razvan’s fate. Whether you kill Razvan or let him rot, the dialogue with Iancu is more or less the same. Both Marius and Iancu will reminisce about their childhood and get in a few jabs, inasmuch as Iancu is able to with the Dreamscourge infecting his mind. At this point, the quest will be complete, and you’ll gain a nice chunk of experience.

Darle from Avowed

You Should Spare Razvan In Avowed

Nothing Is Gained From Killing Him

At the end of the quest, there is no real benefit or drawback in terms of gameplay to killing Razvan, and the only reason to kill him is if you are feeling particularly murderous. As this is Marius’s quest,it makes more sense to go along with his wishes, and if he doesn’t want Razvan dead, I’m not sure why you would. He doesn’t drop any loot, and the Battletrance mace is accessible whether you kill him or not, as is the loot in the prison cells. Further, Iancu will end up engaging in the same dialogue with Marius whether Razvan died or not.

Avowed: Should You Destroy The Mines Or Stop Darle?

Once you reach Shatterscarp in Avowed, you’ll have to make a decision about whether to destroy the mines or stop Darle from blowing them up.

If you kill Razvan, there is slightly different dialogue when you go back to camp and speak with Marius, but ultimately the conversation goes the same either way. Marius is happy to be able to put his past behind him and cherishes the fact that he has his mother’s lost amulet back.

Marius’s mother’s amulet is hard to miss in the lost village, as it can be found right in the center of the piled-up skeletons.

The amulet brings him happy memories, and it’s the first time Marius starts to break through his somewhat cold and standoffish demeanor. The choice to let Razvan live is not necessarily a merciful one, as he will suffer alone for the rest of his days. That’s whysparing Razvan is the most fitting punishmentduring Marius’s side quest inAvowed.
