Disney’s Snow White Remake Looks To Be The Most Promising Yet

In addition to new looks atZegler’s titular characterand Gadot’s Evil Queen, the newSnow Whitetrailer also offers a closer look at how the live-action remake will be adapting the dwarf characters as CGI creations. During the filming of the remake, this drew particular criticism from both the public and those living with dwarfism, with some even calling for the film to be reshot with appropriately cast actors. While it remains unclear if audiences will be open to the decision to make them CGI, the near 1–1 translations of them from the animated classic does mark a nice honoring of the classic characters.

Regardless of some ofSnow White’s behind-the-scenes controversies, theSnow Whitetrailer does point to it being one of the more promising of Disney’s live-action remakes. Many prior efforts have found themselves criticized for either veering too closely or too far from their original titles, with 2017’sBeauty and the Beastand 2019’sThe Lion King, in particular, being noted as too similar to warrant standing on their own.Snow White, on the other hand, looks to be making some interesting changes to its source movie.
