Star Wars' new Force powers are so incredible, they’d completely break canon if they were brought into the main timeline at all. Let’s face it, nobody can mistakeStar Wars LEGOstories as canon. For all that’s the case, though, most of them have a loose connection to canon; they feature familiar locations, orForce powersthat are well established.

All that has changed inLEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, which introduced some powers that are absolutely unparalleled. Jedi Builders and Sith Breakers possess the ability to manipulate the bricks of a LEGO-based world, shuffling them into any form they wish. Some uses of the power are familiar - Darth Dev tosses bricks in what’s clearly telekinesis - but other usages are truly spectacular, with Jedi Bob redesigning a vehicle on the fly. That raises a fun question;what would these Force powers look like in canon?

Jedi Builders & Sith Breakers Set Up Incredibly Powerful Force Abilities

We’re moving into the kind of powers you see in the MCU

The only way to visualize this is as some sort of reality manipulation. To get a sense of what that would look like, it’s best to head to the MCU, or to the comics that inspired those movies and shows. InWandaVision, Scarlet Witch demonstrated the ability to rewrite reality itself when she trapped the town of Westviewin a sitcom reality. This was described as Chaos Magic, the raw stuff of creation itself, and the idea is drawn from the comics - where Wanda could do even greater feats. InHouse of M, she rewrote all history at will.

There have been manypowerful Jediand Sith inStar Wars, but none have ever demonstrated the ability to affect reality at this kind of fundamental level. Now, to be fair, even the Jedi Builders and Sith Breakers ofLEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxydon’t possess the power of Scarlet Witch in the comics; their powers are clearly smaller-scale, limited only to their immediate vicinity and not global or galactic in scale. That property belongs to the Cornerstone alone. But it’s chilling to imagine what Sith like Palpatine would do with this power.

Only The Chosen One Could Possess These Force Powers In Canon

Anakin Skywalker is a living vergence in the Force

Only oneStar Warscharacter could conceivably possess this kind of power inStar Wars; Anakin Skywalker, theChosen Onehimself. RecentStar WarsTV shows have focused on the idea of vergences in the Force, but Anakin is unique in that he is a living vergence, born by the will of the Force to restore cosmic balance. There’s a sense of sheer scale to Anakin that is lacking in all other characters, andit would make sense for him to be able to shape reality itself around him.

Star Wars Makes KOTOR’s SITH Chosen One Prophecy Canon At Last

The Jedi have the Chosen One, but to the Sith, Anakin Skywalker was the Sith’ari - an ancient prophecy from KOTOR that’s now canon at last!

What if Anakin did indeed possess a power of reality manipulation, making him either a Sith Breaker or a Jedi Builder? Oddly enough, this idea actually works, because reality tends to shape itself around Anakin’s wishes and fears. He becomes a Jedi, as he had always hoped, but his fear of loss means he loses his mother and later his beloved Padmé. Viewed through this lens, the story of the Chosen One is even more tragic because Anakin created his own tragedy because of his fears.

The whole idea will never happen in canon, of course; reality manipulation is simply too grand a power forStar Wars, because it would raise too many thorny questions. This power is better left on in the brickworld ofLEGO Star Wars. Still, it’s fun to speculate what such a Force power would mean for the galaxy should the franchise decide to do it.
