The garbage can that’s hidden within the fountain seemingly functions like any other piece of furniture inStardew Valley.Players who eventually drag it up from the depths(they initially need to sift through some Driftwood) can take it back to the farm and set it up wherever they please. It’s certainly a fun discovery and while it’s not exactly difficult to purchase a garbage can, having one rescued from the Pelican Town fountain makes it a little more special.
As for the other pieces of trash that are so often caught inStardew Valley, many of the respective items can actually be useful in their own right. While the former can be used to gain a quick bump in health and energy, as well as a minor speed boost, it’s a fairly useless item that’s negligible in terms of its benefits. The Rotten Plant is even worse since it can’t be consumed, recycled, or soldbutit can be used as an orange dye.
