What Was Revealed In The Shattered Space Deep Dive Footage?

Much More On The Great Serpent & Shattered Space Story

Starfield: Shattered Spacewill take place on the Va’ruun planet and last remaining stronghold in the Kavnyk system, Va’ruun’kai— a handcrafted and isolated environment, much like Bethesda’s previous DLC for games likeSkyrim. The story will give more background on the Va’ruun people and how they’ve managed to survive in this isolated location since they were originally exiled from the Settled Systems after The Serpent’s Crusade, which saw all non-Va’ruun followers attacked and killed.

What Should’ve Been A Profound Starfield Story Reveal Doesn’t Actually Make Any Sense

Starfield spends time building up to a reveal which may be a surprise to the player, but doesn’t really hold up as a plot twist in the game’s story.

As Bethesda explains, ahorrid experiment gone awry using grav drive technology resulted in a tear in space-time, creating a vortex, transporting many Va’ruun people.Shattered Spacewill occur just a few weeks after this catastrophic incident, and players must deal with the disaster’s fallout. Though theories previously pointed toward Jinan Va’ruun, the original founder of the religion and faction, as maintaining his leadership for Shattered Space, it was also revealed that Anasko Va’ruun is the current leader during the events of the DLC, and communicates directly with The Great Serpent.

Players will need to deal with the fractured Va’ruun factions and minor houses, as Anasko has gone missing since the disaster. One such faction called the Zealots are religious fanatics vying for power and control over Va’ruun society. Many in Va’ruun’kai believe that The Great Serpent equates to some form of apocalypse, and its return is something to be avoided.Starfield: Shattered Spaceis shaping up to uncover the truth behind a lot of unanswered mysteries and add new story content and creatures that are sure to frighten when it releases on September 30.
