Stevie Nicks pitched a season 2 idea forDaisy Jones & the Six, the show based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Inspired by the real-life story of Fleetwood Mac, the series tellsthe story of the 1977 rise of the titular fictional band, who broke upafter a sold-out show at Soldier Field. The show was released as a limited series on Prime Video in 2023 and featured the leading cast of Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, and Josh Whitehouse.

In an interview withRolling Stone, Nicks explained how she pitched an idea forDaisy Jones and the Sixseason 2. The music legend expressed how muchshe adored and connected with the Prime Video series, particularly pointing out Keough, Claflin, Morrone, and Waterhouse’s performances. I didn’t even want to see it, because I thought I was going to hate it so much. I had Covid when I saw it. I was in my condo in Los Angeles, and I can remember saying, “Am I just watching my life go by?”

Riley [Keough] doesn’t look like me. She’s much snappier than me. I couldn’t be as snappy as her in Fleetwood Mac. Christine and I couldn’t do that, because we were the peacemakers. [Keough] could be totally sh—y and a smart ass and totally arrogant, because she wasn’t even in the band, and they weren’t even nice to her. So that was the biggest difference. But as far as her character went, it was very similar to me. And I instantly wanted to call her and meet her, and I did.

I thought Suki [Waterhouse] was a great Christine — in her Englishness and just the way that she dressed. And you know what I was really sad about? That Christine didn’t get to see that, because she would’ve been so tickled by her. And I thought Billy [Sam Claflin] was spectacular. I thought he captured so much of Lindsey that it was creepy. He had the curls and that dark handsomeness that Lindsey had. One of my favorites was Camila [Morrone]. I thought that Camila and Daisy were a really good combination of me, the two of them put them together.

She then revealed that she had an idea forDaisy Jones & the Sixseason 2, which would explorewhat would happen “had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that [she] always hoped that Lindsey and [her] would make.”

I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make. That would make a fantastic second season. I talked to [executive producer] Reese [Witherspoon] and Riley about it, and they loved the idea, but everybody’s so busy. Riley’s on her way to becoming a big movie star. But maybe one of these days, they’ll do it. Until I sawDaisy Jones & The Six, I would have never thought it was even possible to emulate our life.

What This Means For Daisy Jones & The Six

Season 2 Has Not Been Announced

Daisy Jones & the Sixwas billed as a miniseries. After all, Reid only wrote one novel starring these characters, and the storylines are mostly resolved. While the characters certainly have lived after theDaisy Jones & the Sixending, the series does not directly set up any follow-up content. Earlier this year, Keough even said that she did not think season 2 was “in the cards” and she “[hadn’t] heard anything” regarding a follow-up series.

Why Daisy Jones & The Six Show Is The Definitive Version Over The Book

Daisy Jones & The Six co-creator, Scott Neustadter, explains why the television adaptation will eventually be the definitive version to the book.

Still, Nicks’s idea forDaisy Jones & the Sixseason 2is fascinating. The show is a fictionalized account of Fleetwood Mac that is only inspired by real-life events, so it does open the opportunity to go beyond the band’s real-life story. If Nicks’s idea were actualized, the sophomore seasonwould almost act as a historical reimagining of what could have been for the band. This could be an interesting direction for the series to go in, should the team end up with time for the project.

Our Take On Daisy Jones & The Six Season 2

Schedules Are The Biggest Barrier

Though she does not detail the ins and outs of what Keough and Witherspoon said about season 2, I think Nicks is probably right in that schedules would be the biggest barrier. SinceDaisy Jones & the Six, Keough has been active, acting inSasquatch SunsetandUnder the Bridgethis year. In addition to these titles, she also has several upcoming projects. As good as Nicks’sDaisy Jonesidea is, it may simply come down to Keough being too busy to return to the role.
